Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
i know i'm making a lot of blog posts lately, but MD-related stuff keeps happening that makes me want to post about it
okay
so today i was in a thrift store and there was this guy who looked EXACTLY LIKE MY CHARACTER
MY MAIN CHARACTER
MY FAVORITE
and i almost had a heart attack when i saw him and i was following him around the store like a creep just so i could stare at him
and i tried to spend as much time in the store as i could so i could keep…

About a minute of what I do at work all day. So you can see why it is so hard not to daydream.

18 VIEWS!! @ 1st post. Cool. People read and understood and commented. Thank You.
So I thought I would post as soon as I uploaded my basic information. But procrastination and a host of other factors got in the way. I realized that I can’t write on the spot in the cyber café. I have to write beforehand. That is because I discovered in the tiny cubicle of the…
ContinueHi all!
I just wanted to post on my first day of orientation for graduate school. I am so exhausted but had so much fun today. I am in training to be a Graduate Student Instructor. Part of our requirement was to give a 5-10 minute presentation and I did really well! I didn't vomit, anyway! Tomorrow we have another 10 minute scientific teaching presentation to give with just a chalkboard and notes.
I am remembering why I love academia so much - it is incredibly taxing…

Would you jump at the chance if you had the opportunity to make your DD come true? What if there was a person you had DD about for a while, and then that person suddenly became an interacting part of your life?
Maybe you've dreamed about that person, and then suddenly you realized, hey this person is here, why not make them enter a real life story...
Would you if you could?

i'm currently 16. and i feel like i write about this a lot on here, but i'm in love with my characters.
like, i'm really in love with my characters.
i've noticed that a lot of people with MD are really into all the action that happens in their daydreams, always coming up with different situations for their characters to get into and then starting over again. fighting zombies, stranded in the wilderness, going to space...
not me. i've created these characters who are the…

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT NOTICE. I WILL BE GONE FOR A FEW DAYS, STARTING ON THURSDAY OR FRIDAY OF THIS WEEK. I don't know when I will be back, but I hopefully won't be gone for too long.
The reason is I will be getting surgery to fix my GERD. My surgeon said I could be out the next day, but the last time I had surgery and was told that, I was in the hospital for 4 days.

So I came across the idea of MD in an article on Yahoo by Penny White. After Googling it reading half a dozen articles and checking the symptoms I’m pretty sure I have it. I’m not too good at writing online or typing things up in general. I went to the cyber café twice but deflected from doing anything. I don’t have access to the net on my laptop which I just started using so I am not able to type online but it forces me to start typing so it was a boon in guise I guess.
I realized I…

Hey there
I was just wondering if anyone else has had any problems with headaches? Not migraine level headaches, just kind of normal, achy ones. I've gotten them for a long time, and I've never had any health or eyesight troubles. I just wondered if this could be an effect from the almost constant daydreaming?
hi! sorry for the absence and lack of replies to comments (I'll get on it soon)-- I've moved over a thousand miles away to college and settled into my dorm.
it's weird, since I came here I haven't had more than a passing urge to daydream. maybe it's because I've been busy (moving in, six hour figure drawing workshops, dorm shopping, etc) or maybe it's because I've already accepted that my means of daydreaming is shot. everything here is super social. I have three roommates in a full…
ContinueHi there.
I just thought it was about time for me to finally let it out. After all, I did come onto this site to find support, and I guess I need to tell you guys about myself for that to work. I know this post is kinda long but... please bear with me. This is kinda scary cause I've never ever ever told ANYONE about any of this stuff. Like a lot of people on this site, I thought i was the only one to experience the way more than normal daydreaming. It really does make me feel…

My trigger is the music and the video games (but the second is less important) but read a book... really get me anxious.

I've noticed I’ve had more anxiety than my peers for most of my life.

I've have these speech problems and I believe it has something to do with how inflamed or swollen my tongue is. I take pills with magnesium and vitamins C-D to relieve the inflammation and it usually helps a lot. I think the cause is do too stress being caused by my MD.

This is another non-MD story, so forgive me. It's just on my mind.
I just looked over my budget, and while things are tight, it looks like I'm still on track to be able to afford Grendel's surgery within a couple of months, if the vet will still let me do a payment plan, and I think they will. I'm saving slowly. They gave me 2 amounts, a minimum and a maximum. I'm saving up for the minimum amount, and then I'm going to ask them to do the maximum on a payment plan.…
