As I posted in my blog, I've been dealing with some health issues for a while, which is why I've been so absent.  I'm on the mend, though.  You'd think that with all the laying around and…Continue

TV producer in NYC seeking interviewees in NY-NJ-Conn area -can remain anonymous

Posted on October 26, 2016 at 4:58pm 0 Comments

Hello.  This is Cordellia, site founder and admin.  I spoke to a woman who is a TV producer in NYC, and she's looking to help spread the word about Maladaptive Daydreaming so that the world will know more and be more accepting, which is greatly needed.  She is seeking one or two people to be interviewed.  They can be anonymous if desired.  It will not be live, and she's happy to talk with them in advance if that helps.  I've pasted her message with contact info below.

Dear Daydreamers: it's going to be okay.

Posted on July 30, 2016 at 9:44pm 6 Comments

Dear Maladaptive Daydreamers,

I know it's tough.  I've been dealing with Maladaptive Daydreaming for all of my life.  For most of my life, it was in absolute control of me.  I was certain that it would never get better, let alone end, but it has...completely.

The journey began in 2007...if you can even call that a real beginning, for I was a long way away from even learning what this was, but that is where I began because that is when I found my courage.…

15 things about me

I was given the number 15.  Like and/or comment on my status, and I will give you a number. Here are 15 little-known and/or "interesting" things about me:

1) I've spent most of my life in a fantasy world, which has given me a unique perspective on life.

2) I have 9 tattoos and plan to get more. I have my cats' portraits tattooed on my arms.

3)I've almost died multiple times, and my friend and apartment manager both saved my life when…

I did a radio interview about Maladaptive Daydreaming!

Posted on January 16, 2015 at 1:51pm 4 Comments

The show is called WireTap.  It will air in Canada this weekend and in the US in a few months.

In the meantime, you can check out the episode online.  The episode is about the ideal self.  My portion is 6-7 minutes long.  I spoke to them for waaaay longer, but the portion they kept is really well-done.  They were so nice and fun to talk to.

Have a listen, and feel free to share it with anyone you want!…

"Being completely alone is what triggers my MDD. If I am surrounded by other people, then I am distracted from my intrusive thoughts and tendency to walk around."

Thank you for this site. I have been reading about MD condition. I have memories as a very young child soothing my self lying rolling back and forth in my bed singing in a daydream.
My MD continued till I was about 22 then stopped. It began for a few years after a traumatic time in my life. I then went cold Turkey and gave it up when I found my partner.
My MD restarted about 3 years ago. I love the escapism. Imagining a way of life that is very different from my own. How do I give up this addiction? It is so hard. Even when I hear music it triggers the urge. I have been dreaming for a big part of mylife. I regret that.
Thank you for reading. X
