MD: more common than we think?

it's been awhile since i last posted!

there some reasons why i haven't been on this site as much, the biggest one being that i'm kind of over the whole "wow i have a disorder, i need to find out everything about it" thing. i've came on here and asked all my questions in my blog posts, i've gotten my answers, and i'm not really as curious about how other people deal with MD.

if you forgot, i'm a MD-er in high school and i have had MD since i was 9. i prefer to pace or lie down…

long time, no blog.

hi everyone!

it's been awhile since i've posted on here, so i thought i'd make a blog post, even though i really don't have anything to talk about.

my daydreaming has been pretty much the same since the last time i blogged. i told myself i'd write down some of my daydreams this summer, but that hasn't happened. yesterday, i got bored and decided to edit pictures of celebrities and people that look like my characters together, so i can have something to look at in real life that…

MD and guilt.

i have completely made up some of my characters, but others are based on real-life people.

most characters that i have are based on several real-life people. their appearance might be based on one person, while their personality is based on of two or three different people, and how they dress is based on another person, too. i don't have any characters that are exact copies of people in real life. even the characters that are only based on one person, i make some changes to.

i…

some questions for MDers.

  1. when you daydream, do you daydream about yourself and people you know in real life? or do you use characters that you made up, or are based off of celebrities or book/movie/tv show characters?
  2. do you have one continuous daydream that you keep adding on to, like a never ending movie in your head? or do you daydream about different scenarios (characters, setting, plot, etc) each time?
  3. do you make any motions when you daydream?

my…

why am i so attached to my characters??

seriously.

last week, i  was lying in bed daydreaming, and it was about something really sad happening to some of my characters. i started crying.

afterwards, i felt weird.

these are fictional people that i created in my head.

why am i so attached to them?

i also like to edit pictures of people from the internet (mostly celebrities) to look like my characters, because i like to look at them in real life and not just in my head. i…

tumblr post about maladaptive daydreaming.

i'm sure a lot of you know about tumblr. but in case you don't, it's a blogging website.

i have a tumblr, and i track the tag "maladaptive daydreaming". today, it said there was a new post in the tag, so i clicked it, and i found this.

today i wrote for two hours.

i have been trying to write down my daydreams, so that i'll never forget them, even if i move on to different characters and a different story line.

today, i wrote for two hours.

afterwards, i felt like i was... tired of daydreaming. it was really weird. usually i don't get like that. i'm sure that feeling will go away by tomorrow, but right now i really just don't want to daydream. but i can't help it, so it happens anyway.

hm.

do any of you ever get…

writing down daydreams

i feel like i mention this in all of my blog posts, but when i first started daydreaming, i had a different "daydream story" that i do now. it had different characters, a different plot... you know. but then, i grew out of that and stopped daydreaming for a few months. then, it started all over again with new characters and  a new plot, and this time, it came with pacing. but that's not the point of this blog post.

i've had my current characters since i was 12. now i'm 14, which means…

perfect characters.

if an author writes a story with a main character that is an obvious idealized version of themselves-- gorgeous, talented, smart, practically perfect, everyone is in love with her-- people say that the character is a "mary sue". almost all of the time, a story with a mary sue as a main character will get bad reviews, just because the character is a mary sue.

as i have said before in a different blog post, i have had two different daydream stories. one that i stopped…

about my daydreaming.

i've never really made a post saying everything that i do when i'm daydreaming, blahblahblah. i just kind of comment on people's blogs and discussions with things that i do. so here it is all in one place.

how it started:

the first time i ever remember daydreaming in a way that was MD-ish was when i was 9 or 10 (i'm 14 now). i was in the car and it was only a 45 minute drive, but that's a long time for a 9 year old. :P i made up a character that was…

aging characters.

have you ever come up with a new character and daydreamed about them so much that it starts to seem like they're the new main character even though they're not and you don't want them to be so you try to keep yourself from daydreaming about that character because you're afraid that they'll become the new main character which you don't want to happen?

^ wow, run-on sentence xD

but that's been happening to me lately... -_-

it's happened to me before, and when that happened…

original characters.

i have had the same daydream story for a little over two years, and i've found that only two of my characters are completely original- looks-wise and personality-wise. all of my other characters are based on celebrities, people in movies or books, or (rarely) people i know in real life. i feel like this makes me less creative than most MDers. i know that i'm way more creative than the average person-- i mean, i have an entire imaginary world inside my head, i'd be stupid to think that i'm…
