I spin in circles and listen to music when I daydream. I started in a chair when I was two and when I outgrew the chair around age 9-10 I started standing and spinning. I do it for hours, sometimes…Continue

The type of music I listen to impacts what scenarios im having at the time. Sad, happy, suspenseful, intense, you name it. These emotions I feel in my daydreams are more than I feel in my "reality". Im sick of this.

Jeff Buckley used to be a huge trigger for me, now QOTSA is. I've been dreaming about the music industry most of my life. When I was a teenager I liked to fall asleep listening to bands like Depeche Mode to see how the music would influence my dreams. I would sometimes write stories or poems based on those dreams. Now that I MD I find myself writing songs in my head. I just got a guitar for Christmas. I'm hoping maybe I can make some of my dreams a reality. I've always wanted to join a band and rock out, but was too scared to ever try before. I didn't want to be appear a talentless fool. Listening to Buckley, I fell so in love with his music and voice. He's inspired me to at least try. I'm just hoping I can stay out of my head long enough to learn to play a few tunes.

Music is the main trigger for my daydreaming, I often imagine myself in a band and that they're singing the song I listen to or if it fits to a scenario. I also like to listen to movie soundtrack since the best scenarios come up then.

Two words: Anime. Music. I'll listen to one opening theme and suddenly a hour has passed with me skipping around my room daydreaming about a cool action story

Music really influences my daydreams. I build whole subplots bases on songs. I decided that maybe to express my daydreams in a way i may feel more comfortable then talking, i could start writing songs. What do you think?

Rock music triggers my DD as does dreamy music like Agnes Obel, and it's always worse at the gym when I'm running, so much so that sometimes I lose myself in a daydream and don't even realise the time is passing, then suddenly it's been 20 minutes and I'm exhausted.

For me a trigger is songs with a strong female singer. Lately is been a lot of Joss Stone music. Although I stopped putting headphones on at night and I haven't DDed in 2 days! Problem is now my mind doesn't know what to do and I just have random thoughts about tasks I need to do and this is keeping me from falling asleep without the satisfaction of having been in DD despite my exhaustion. Been feeling anxious and unsettled. Plus I have real bad headaches with DDing. I keep thinking I'll just fall asleep because I'm so tired but then I worry about losing sleep ironically keeping me from sleeping..... it's like I've forgotten HOW to fall asleep without having my DD world to go to every day. Isn't that weird? I'm thinking instead of music at night which is a huge DD trigger that I'll try reading. Site that'll still bring up images but it'll be productive as I'll further my literary interests and it won't be immersing in a DD world I created and get lost in. Anyone else significantly cut off their music listening and feeling the same "off"-ness??

Rock and metal usually trigger my DD, I usually either make up a story or create "music videos" in my head. It can be embarrassing in public cause I unknowingly make facial and body gestures to go with my story.
