Survey. Gathering Info. on MD PLEASE PARTICIPATE IF U CAN

The reason why im doing this is because MD is very vague. There isn't much info. on it.I want to perhaps do a project on this for my psychology class. Please answer these questions. I apologize beforehand if this is too unprofessional as this is the first time ive done anything like this.

-When did you first start experiencing MD?

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved?

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

-What triggers your MD?

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...)

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

To answer my own questions...

I started when I was young. I cant really remember but i think i always had the tendency to daydream.

I'm a very quiet and awkward person. I think the reason why MD is so severe is because of this.

Im probably considered an outcast and a loner.

Im only in highschool but i have somewhat good grades.

Anything. From music to my surrounding ambiance...

Im good at English, History.

My mind wanders easily.

-When did you first start experiencing MD?
Around the age of 9.

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved?

I'm more reserved. It takes time for someone to get to really know me, but when I'm around friends I'm extroverted and funny.

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

I'm at uni now and I'm seen as someone intelligent (I've got good grades) but not very sociable. Actually, it's common people coming at me after getting to know me better and saying "I thought you didn't like me when we first met".

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

I am now. I spent my adolescence feeling lost and with a low self-esteem but now I'm fine. I learned how to struggle for the things I want and I'm getting myself where I want to be.

-What triggers your MD?

Music, films, sometimes when something tragic happens I'll put myself in that situation, books, things that trigger the imagination.

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...)

I'm very good with languages in general, I speak three now. I love to write too. I really like to study anything.

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

When I've got something from the uni to do, it's easy for me to focus. What I really can't focus on at all are films. I find it hard to watch a more complex film because I can't pay attention. I'm ok with animation films, though.

When did I first start experiencing MD?  As long as I can remember

Describe personality:  mainly introverted.  Prefer having a few close friendships than tons of acquaintances.  Social but not outgoing.

School social status:  I just graduated but I would say I was in the group that didn't have a name LOL.  We were all different and didn't fall into any of your typical categories.  I guess you could call us the outsiders??  As far as being well liked, I really don't know.  It didn't feel like I was but I may have been.  I'm clueless as to that aspect.

Do you describe yourself as successful in real life??  For what I'm working towards, I would say, yes for the most part I think.  It's too early in my life to really answer this question though.  I don't know never really thought about it.

What triggers your MD??  Music, movies, tv shows, books, monotonous activity, boredom, quiet, long tasks, stress.

What subjects are you proficent in??  English, Art, Theatre/Drama, Math (depending on the kind)

Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander??  It depends on the situation.  If it's something I enjoy doing or something that I'm interested in, it's not nearly as bad as when it's something I don't like doing or have no interest in.  Also long tasks, papers or projects make it extremely hard for me to focus and my mind easily wanders.  My mind also finds it incredibly easy to wander when listening to music, watching movies or tv.

When did you first start experiencing MD? 11 is when I actually began to notice. Before then,  I always played pretend a lot and could spin stories. I don't know if, as I got older, my 'imagining' just shifted to just my head.

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved? Reserved with a wild side. Socially, I generally don't like to be around crowds or loud/ disruptive commotions, but I'll go exploring and try anything intersting in a heart beat

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked? In highschool (10 years ago), I was nerd and well liked.  I don't know how much that says, though, my school was really chill.

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life? No. I think my Md is holding me back. I realized with my MDing I can't go to gradschool...I would struggle.

-What triggers your MD? Music, reading, tv, radio, walking(because I pace and skip a lot when I md), some social interactions or anything that reminds me of any of my storylines going on in my head. It's gotten really bad over the last two years, which is why I found this site.

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...) History and English. I have a B.A in Classics and studied Latin in college (my major and interest in history is actually a byproduct of my MDing. My need for 'research' galvanized a weird interest in ancient history starting at 12.)

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander? Earlier, I had no problem focusing. I could daydream and live my life efficiently--I got through highschool and college with high GPA's. My  mind could wander and go into my story lines, but I still knew what was going around me.  However, since I've graduated (2 years ago) I feel like my daydreaming has gotten worst and I cannot focus long. Also, I've noticed my memory has deteriorated.

-When did you first start experiencing MD?

When I was very young. I would say about 7 is when I remember first DDing.

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved?

I try to be outgoing. When I meet friends of my friends I tend to be shy but I can joke around with a random stranger if I'm in the mood. I'm rather sarastic and lazy.

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

When I was in school I was in the middle of the totem poll. I had cheerleader friends. Did sports and clubs. I was always a little too into horses and "off" to be super popular. My MD didn't hold me back in High School as far as socialy. In middle school I wasn't as good at controling it.

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

Kinda, I'm 19 so I still am working at it. I have the job I went to school for and am loving life, but I still live at home.

-What triggers your MD?

Books, TV, music, occational real life situations. In that order from most often to least.

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...)

Any thing but math. I'm lazy and I have to like the subject to really learn a lot about it. My best classes where Pych and Zoologoy. I also can't spell.

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

I'm addicted to day dreaming. What do you think? hehe. If Im intrested in my focus point I get MAD if you interupt me. But try to tell me something boring and my brain will shut you out. If its a trigger that is my focus I can get obsessive about it.

-When did you first start experiencing MD?

I was around eight years old when I started daydreaming everyday.

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved?

I am definitely more reserved. I can be outgoing around my family and friends but it's too hard for me to meet new people.

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

I think people still look at me as the weird quiet girl even though I am going on my junior year in college, I have made a lot of friends in the past but ended up losing them all in one way or another.

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

I struggle keeping up with work outside of the classroom and with taking opportunities or letting myself be known, it is honestly holding me back as a Communications major.

-What triggers your MD?

Music is my most popular trigger. I can also be triggered by scenes in movies or on television or just by the beauty of a person in general.

-What subjects are you proficient in? (Math, English, History...)

I am really good at the visual arts: photography, filming and directing and taking a director's instructions. When it comes to things in the maths and sciences I am terrible.

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

I can concentrate on something if it is important to me. I have slipped in a lot of daily situations or conversations that I just don't care about.

Let me know if you need any more help! (:

-When did you first start experiencing MD?

   all my life

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved?

reserved.  I avoid social situations at all cost.

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

It should be "you're".  I just graduated university.  I kept to myself.  I wouldn't say I was smart enough to be seen as a nerd, and I certainly wasn't popular.

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

Nope.  I'm 31 years old and living off of Disability in a secluded apartment with my 2 cats.  I'm content, but I wouldn't say I'm successful.

-What triggers your MD?

It can be anything, from something I hear on the street to TV, or just anything.

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...)

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

I've never been able to focus.  In fact, one of my coping mechanisms is to not try and force myself to focus.  I simply accept that it may take me all day to write a page and allow for that time.  Taking the pressure off myself has been good for my self esteem.

-When did you first start experiencing MD?

Don't know, as far back as I can remember.

-Describe your personality, are you outgoing person or reserved?

Yes. Both, neither. Often at the same time.

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

Way back when I was accepted by and able to hang with all of the cliques. Some grudgingly and some with open arms. I was a computer kid predating the internet and was on the honor role. But also did track and was a karate kid. I found out later that I was considered to be way cool (why didn't anyone tell me?!?) But my only real freinds were other outcasts, misfits, and crazies.

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

No. I have had short term success a bunch of times but it never manages to last. I am currently a disability receiving hermit living waaay up on a mountain.

-What triggers your MD?

It's complicated and varies.

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...)

Not bad at anything. Especially strong in multidisciplinary abstract thought with a particular emphasis on graduate level abnormal psychology, thought form constructs, and multiple and dissocitive issues.

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?
Yes, no, both. Often at the same time.

- I started experiencing it at a young age, I've been doing it as long as I can remember

-I'm a pretty reserved person, most definitely not outgoing.

-I guess I'm looked at as a nerd, outcast. I have friends but I don't feel like I really fit in.

- I wouldn't say I am successful

-my MD is usually triggered my boredom, sadness, or  anger. However, I'm usually just doing it without any obvious trigger.

-I've always done better in english than other subjects.

-I find it extremely difficult to focus, my mind is always wandering, I can't never fully focus. In the back of my mind I am usually thinking of something else.

-When did you first start experiencing MD?

When I was 12 although I still daydreamed quite a bit before that.

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved?

I guess I'm a bit of both.

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

I'm usually seen as the weird/crazy guy of the school.

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

Not really, but I'm still pretty young.

-What triggers your MD?

Almost anything. Music, fiction, television. Just learning something new can cause me to daydream about me doing something that involves it.

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...)

History in English are my best subjects while Math is my worst.

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

My mind always wanders but usually I still manage to complete stuff while daydreaming at the same time. I consider it multitasking.

-When did you first start experiencing MD?

I don't know. When I was around 10 or 11. When I was younger, I used to daydream about being in a film and about characters but I don't anymore.

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved?

I am a shy, reserved friendly person. I can talk to people but when I don't know them I am shy but once I know someone I open up. Thankfully, when someone says hi to me when I walk pass on the street, I say hello but sometimes I feel anxious or awkward afterwards.

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

I'm not in school. I used to be the shy, quiet girl. I was bullied too. I was liked by some people but I wasn't popular.

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

Maybe. It depends... successful in what? I can be successful in things I'm good at. For example, languages. I'm learning French at the moment and I believe I'm good at learning it. I have gained some confidence in my life.

-What triggers your MD?

When something good or surprising in my life happens. I daydream about it. Maybe it's a conversation going on in my head.

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...)

English or languages

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

I can focus but sometimes my mind wanders.

I don't know if this is still going on, but I'll respond anyway.

When did you first start experiencing MD?

-I'm 23 and it was more than 10 years ago. I was very imaginative as a child but I don't know that it was excessive in my early childhood. The middle school years (12-14) I was very isolated and awkward. It either started or got worse then.

Describe your personality, are you  an outgoing person or reserved?

-I'm fairly extroverted but somewhat socially awkward and I don't really like meeting new people. I crave solitude and social interaction alternately but both acutely.

If you're still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

- When I was in high school I didn't exactly have a stereotypical role. I was socially accepted by most including the popular people but wouldn't have been considered popular myself. I was probably considered intelligent, maybe somewhat nerdy and certainly eccentric. I think I was generally well-liked but kind of self-absorbed (MD right?) and unkind sometimes.

Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

-I'm a college student but my lack of investment in my real life has amounted to me just sort of wasting my time aimlessly and ending up with a mediocre GPA. So I guess not particularly successful, but not a total failure so far.

What triggers your MD?

-Practically anything: music, video games, movies, tv shows, websites of various types, books, boredom, fatigue, excitement, anxiety...

What subjects are you proficient in? (Math, English, History...)

-I'm good at most, but I've focused on and I'm proficient with foreign languages (advanced Spanish, beginning Russian).

Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

-It wanders extremely easily and sometimes I find it very difficult to focus. I repeatedly have to draw my attention back to what I'm doing, which I can usually only do well if I'm under a lot of anxiety-inducing pressure (like cramming before an exam).

-When did you first start experiencing MD?

When I moved which was when I turned six years old

-Describe your personality, are you  outgoing person or reserved?

I am actually pretty outgoing when I meet new people, But there are days when I am reserved. I think it depends on who I'm with.

-If your still in school what is your social status are you looked upon as a nerd or are you popular and well liked?

I am definitely not popular, lol I am very awkward in terms of like I don't go partying or anything like that, I am well liked but I'm not popular its hard to explain.

-Do you describe yourself as successful in real life?

No

-What triggers your MD?

Whenever I'm bored, or when i'm doing something and I'm not enjoying it (during class) I tend to drift off. also when I am listening to some music or reading.

-What subjects are you profecient in? (Math, English, History...)

Art and Science

-Do you find it hard to focus or does your mind easily wander?

Maths, I can't do it.

I think its really great that you're thinking of doing this :)
