I had a small victory today: I was able to focus on my studies for almost 5 hours without lapsing into a daydream for more than a moment or two. When I did, I acknowledged it, and I pulled myself back. That is HUGE for me. I think we should celebrate small victories. Does anyone else have any small victories they'd like to celebrate?

Congtrats! Now, you keep up the small victories and they will become larger victories later.

Hi Heidi,

5 hours is amazing. Nothing small about that victory. I'm taking another shot at getting a degree after dopping out of countless other courses so I'm feeling your pain on this one.

Good luck with the rest of your studies.

5 hours?! Thats no small victory! Haha, congratulations! Thats amazing! :) I wish I could do that lol most I've gone without daydreaming is an hour and a half. I just have to keep trying I guess :)
Thanks so much! Good luck with your education, too.

Thanks, Viviana. You can do it! It took a lot of concentration and distracting myself with my studies. I just kept reminding myself how important the midterm was. Hopefully I can repeat it again today. :)

5 hours!... thats amazing... I know that DDreamers if they study for 5 hours the depth of knowledge gained its equivivalent to normal guys studying for 50 hours.. keep it up... remember dont get distracted by the happiness of ur success... just go ahead with this success..

Wow! I couldn't even imagine sitting STILL for 5 hours!

One hell of a win, here. Keep it up!

Thanks!

Johnny -  I'm not overly excited now. I completely biffed it yesterday and today. Although today was a REALLY rough day and the majority of it came while I was jogging. I am able to run a heck of a lot longer if my mind is somewhere else, so I don't know if I'm going to count that...

This is very good.  Practice makes proficient.  This will serve you well when you need to focus the most.  Congratulations.

That's really good news.Well done.

What did you do to try to break the habit?

Congrats!  And yes, I absolutely agree that we need to celebrate the small victories.  My recent small victory was fixing my car, I posted about in my blog.  It feels good to accomplish something doesn't it?  ;)
