Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
So it is a proven fact that the human brain can't make up faces. If we see a face in a dream or a daydream that means that at one point in time we have seen that person even if it was only in passing for a split second.
Did you notice this before? Do you have any idea who the characters in your daydreams looks are based off of? Do you think that this is a weird thing to think about (that you've seen your character before even if only for an instant)?
I kind of noticed this before I knew this. I wanted to keep my characters from looking too much like people I knew in real life though (like a classmate).

I never create a face , infact I dont think I can or want to .Plus my MD's are really not very "Creative" . Theyre usually just events of my life that I rewind in my head and comeup with a plagiarized version of them , sometimes theyre movie inspired and the thing is theyre really fast , I mean Im in there and the focus is on the feelings and sensations in my virtual world , my reactions , how I feel etc.
That drains me of my energy .
I didnt know its a proven fact that we cant create images of a face , well I cant and even if I do its usually derived not original.
I read that somewhere, can't remember where. But I still don't believe it. I have had a character that I have never seen. Doesn't remind me of anyone. And also, if that was true then blind people could never imagine a face even after touching it. I just think our minds are more powerful then that.
That was a point made when we talked about this topic. That blind people can't really see but the evidence with this was how much a blind person can see depends on when they went blind since most people aren't born completely blind. I just think that this was an interesting fact and I could see both sides. Like I can see how we see thousands of faces a day sometimes and don't pay attention to any of them but we can subconsciously remember some. Or that we can take what we know about faces from all the people that we see and create our own in dreams.

I heard that too about dreams, but not daydreams. However, I created my MCs when I was quite young, and I only know who the females are based off of. My main main main MC, I have a vague idea what he looks like, but he must be based off of someone I saw in passing. Speaking of which, in high school, I was on the city bus going home and there was a guy and something about him, demeanor and face, reminded me of the character. It freaked me out. But I can't for the life of me remember what the guy on the bus looked like. So I am thinking I do base them. I don't think too much about how the characters look, though. Personality wise, they're all collages of people I've known or characters from books, movies, etc.
I don't know who most of my characters are based off of, but sometimes when I'm daydreaming about a new character I find it difficult to set up their faces/voices.
I do, mine are cheesily always after whatever interest sparked them. Most are all celebrity based, regardless if they are "that" well known or good-looking, whatever. Just struck a serious mental or physical attraction and went into my storyline and over time they are slightly modified, be it height or hair color, whatever.
However, one is my old best friend from HS and even though they've probably lost some weight and hair style, they look the same as grade 9, lol. I try to not use 'real life' people, either, and even if I do include real life people in my daydreams rarely, even when I do it's with a different face.
I have that same problem, sometimes the faces are a blur for a few 'scenes' until I develop what their personality is.
