Nope..you're not alone...I do this too...I have gotten 'caught' a couple of times and it's very embarrasing

Thanks !

Is this Hereditary I just found my youngest daughter on here . Her year older sister says she sent her a link !

Me too

I do this. I am usually my idealized self in my DD's so I will often interview myself or do the voice of another character (I.e., interviewer, lover) in my daydream. But for the majority of the daydream I am myself.
I move my mouth and make my eyes focus as if something was infront of me.

I talk to myself (and my cats lol :) ) and answer myself when I'm not in a dd, but in MD i'm too scared off being heard and only mouth words

I talk to myself out loud quite often, but I don't answer myself as someone else.

@ wanderer, was this the prime reason why you are divorced?

I got caught once by my husband (who is no longer my husband). He literally thought I was crazy. I didn't bother explaining; he was already sure he was going to leave me, and probably would have thought this was at least as bad as that.

OH, I feel so bad for you! God bless u.

Yes, I have caught myself doing this.  As a matter of fact, I embarrassed myself at the tire shop last year.  I guess in the boredom of the wait for the new tire to be replaced I slipped in to MD.  I snapped out of it when I heard the guy shout "It's for the woman who's talking to herself!".  I was mortified...

you certainly are not the only one.done it i think all my life.

xxx

You are absolutely not alone! I act as my Ideal Me, my Ideal Me's friends, and her beloved boyfriend. I seriously have, like, different voices for everyone.

When I was younger, (8-9 years old) I didn't understand how loud I really was while doing this, and I would often get questioned about who I was always talking to in my bedroom. This embarrassed me fiercely, but luckily I was able to get away with saying, "Oh, I was playing with Barbie Dolls." I eventually got too old to use that as my cover up, so I just answering with, "I was on the phone with my friend."
I'm not convinced they ever believed either of these. I'm 15 now, and still using the phone thing as an excuse...And still immensely mortified.
