What it would be like to try to make a survey to see how we all pan out since similarities exist -- you know, comparing any diagnoses we have had, our living situations past and present and how we all look at our futures. You know?  I really want to look into creating one, however time consuming and thinking of all the content may take some time.

Anyway, I was wondering (to whoever reads) which things (realistic!) you have 'experienced' in your DD compared to things you have not done.

For example: in my day dreams I am often in relationships, but I have never dated yet.  And I fear I won't.

Another one would be in my DD I always have a very successful job, but currently I battle finding a job or even a niche I am passionate about that could someday produce financial stability.

Just curious how these may vary.  I say realistic because let's be honest most times we're not going to fulfill some of the more far stretched things, I suppose I mean 'basic life milestones' as many would see love lives, careers, etc.

My daydreams are sci-fi themed. I'm a humanoid aliens who's queen of an intergalactic empire and has superpowers. I'm not sure how that relates to goals or milestones, LOL. But I bet it does represent me wanting to feel important or something.

That's fine, no biggie. I often interpret things poorly.

I did see some results from a study on the links page (which was interesting and I found myself in the bulk of answers except in the low end of just one) Another is a lengthy PDF which I have since downloaded but did not read yet.  Thanks for all the goodies already posted.  I'll have to dig around Google some [more] too, which I haven't in quite a while.

Yeah, I didn't mean posts, either.  I posted what I could on the links page.  I had been told by one of the authors to post one of the results on my Scribd, but Scribd took them down because they said I didn't have the right to publish them.  New results are expected hopefully this year.  I'll post what I can when I can.

lol Cordellia that was a typo!  I meant individual POSTS and wrote profiles instead!   I was thinking the results would be included in a discussion and I'm browsing the links page now.

Joey, I wasn't suggesting you browse individual profiles.  I was suggesting you read the studies done.  I don't see the connection.

Lolz I relently purchased colorblindness correcting contact lenses from Korea (they are still being tested) and they contain a holographic membrane imbedded into the lens that mimics the way red cone cells work. They are for people with protonamaly and are still in their trial stages. So far it is a success but they hurt my eyes and are really hard/thick. Hopefully one day they will be better and available in America.^ - ^

Thanks for all the comments.  It's interesting to see how we are so eager in DD to do things we can't ordinarily do and I assume those who do not consider themselves MD must just say, "Oh well, can't do it" and brush it aside or indeed do it, and either pursue it and go strong or fail altogether and are satisfied, but we just keep on truckin' in our heads, haha.

(Cordellia, I have not yet browsed individual profiles too hard to seek those out!  Clearly I need to get to them!)

Matthew &  SK -- I am very similar in my DD.  I've done amazing things!  And the 'sick part' I always feel is I really, whole-heartedly feel like *I HAVE* done them. I've cried and felt feelings I can't really put to words and when I sit and realize it's really all in my head, it makes me feel sick as though I'm almost making fun of people who really have done this stuff and felt those emotions.

Bleh, anyway, it just seems common for many of us to struggle with basic social things and it's kinda nice to know I'm not alone, however cliche that sounds over and over repeating it.  My family sees my problems with things like anxiety but I don't think they realize how something else really fills that "absent minded" slot in a totally different way! I'm anything but absent minded! haha.

Miska-- that is pretty gnarly but confusing. If you are colorblind how can you dream something you can't see-- er, how can you identify red if you've never seen it?  I think too much! =P

In my Dds I dreamt of seeing the color red (colorblind) now only until recently I have been able to. The dding really helped me not flip out but they where not very close to reality^ - ^
