Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
Is that possible, that We, as DayDreamers gather more experience than most people? We imagine the most beatifull and complex things, we recriate various possibilities. Where i want to get is, is that possible that We have more Mental Lifetime than most of people of our Ages? We dont need to pay a trip to China, we can travel to China in our heads recriating China from the memories and the idea that we have of the Concept of "China". We can travel anywhere we want based on the memories we have. Have we lived "More" and are we more Maturest than the rest of the people? Share your opinions.

To contradict you, I often think things'll be a lot better than they actually turn out to be, or not nearly as bad. I guess it depends on the person though, and how hopeful they are, or maybe more how optimistic/pessimistic/cynical they are (I know roughly what pessimism is, and what being cynical is, and to me, they seem similar. Are they the same?)

I think it is an illusion that out daydreams are as fulfilling as reality. Even if they were, how can we assume that we have created something 100% accurately? In my experience, anything I have daydreamed about doing before I actually did it, was WAY better in reality. I actually think this illusion is MDs most detrimental effect on me. It makes me feel content about doing things vicariously, when I should be striving to do them in reality.
I feel like most people don't realize the things their minds are capable of. They are always preoccupied with something it seems, so they just never see how powerful an imagination can be. It's a shame, I think if people thought like we do, that they would see how pointless some of things we do are (work, war, etc.). It seems like everything we do, is only to distract ourselves from our thoughts. (This is only my opinion).
This is an interesting question. Yes, we daydreamers have very active minds, and I do think we are acquiring life experience through daydreaming, but it's a "sort of" life experience. And that's because a daydream is "sort of" like life. It is good enough for many, but ultimately, it is not life itself. It is not the world, and the daydreamer is not everyone in it. I don't think the life experience gained from daydreaming is the same as the life experience gained from in-person reality.
I personally am firmly committed to the campaign of becoming a master of reality. If I could have dealt with reality in the first place, I would not have daydreamed. It wasn't that I ever WANTED to daydream. What I wanted by daydreaming was to enjoy life, to experience life better, to be on better terms with the glories, ravages, and uncertainties of living. Enjoying life was something that I was very far away from when I started daydreaming. That said, it would be hard for me to identify anything I love more than daydreaming, except life itself.
Its a beautiful thought and that is what keeps out through our depressions and such, isnt it? completely escape and living another life? But i can tell you for sure -- we dont even come close to what its like in reality. You have to remember that these arent real, and you cant dream up something you havent experience and do it accurately.
Going with your china example, ive been to china (and many other places... i travel a lot), and trust me, you want to go for real. You could never create it to its true reality. You can't dream up the experiences, they will never be like they would be. It's worth paying the money to go do it. There are things to see and feel and taste -- and the emotions you feel going through it you cant predict. This goes with any country and any experience.
The dreams give us an ecstasy i dont think others experience, and sometimes i would how others go without it, but never think what you have in your head is everything. You'll end up not travelling and going out and doing things... and they are things you will regret not doing. Wanting to experience new things will give you motivation to try things. Don't let yourself become a hermit.
Everyone dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the sleepy recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are peculiar people, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.Dreaming or awake, we perceive only events that have meaning to us, and at least in my case, my Dreams are the trigger to try something new in Real Life.
