My daydreams involve people being bossy, controlling, and very rude and annoying.

Anyone else have negative daydreams?

I don't, personally. I think that everything has a sense and we should not censure our mind.

Do you think you are compensating? Maybe we are educated to be always nice and inside us something screams.

In some of my daydream I'm helpless (It's hard to admit) but I'm always so much in control and strong that I think I'm compensating, thinking of a imaginary reality where someone else take care of things.

Yes I might be compensating.  I'm never allowed to get angry in real life but in my daydreams sometimes I tell the people off.

Hello Aprelle

I have that, too. My characters are usually explosive and completely irritated, even a little bossy yes, but in the course of the story they realize that they are broken emotionally (usually by something familiar problem) so they improve a little in temperament. I don’t know what to think about it. I also have more docile and a little more balanced characters.

Yep. We have daydreams that are what we have come to understand as confrontations we can't have in shared reality. At some point we were just like, "oh. we have arguments living in our body."  Which is why we have often had daydreams over the years of people being rude, unkind, cruel even, irritating. For us at least, is gives us an opportunity to say, feel, and think things we don't feel empowered to actualize in shared reality or that we can't because the external locus of the stored anger is unclear or gone.

That's so interesting! Are there people in your shared reality who you wish would have those kinds of realizations about themselves? It's not always the case, but sometimes I find my daydreams are a way to experience people around me in the way I wish I could - even if I'm not actually daydreaming about those people.

Yes, nearly all of mine have strongly negative emotional content, expressed as a confrontational or violent daydream.  (My parents were very violent, and during childhood my mother tried repeatedly to kill me.  She actually did kill my younger brother.)

Also my daydreams are all involuntary (I'm unable to "start", change, or control my daydreams.

My daydreams are often triggered by real-world conflicts, often with my wife.  My MD problem started in 2018 after I was incapacitated recovering from shoulder surgery, and my wife went ballistic that I was unable to do yard work and chores for months.  She acted extremely mean and critical, threatened divorce, said that she hated me.  Suddenly I had MD for hours, and it's been awful ever since.  I'm fortunate to have a gifted psychoanalyst who has helped me for decades with other mental problems.  I have a complex illness (means a wide variety of symptoms).  One of my symptoms is similar to MD.

I'm new to the group, and supportive of everyone, and thankful for your support.

I had a life, where lots of people were one-sided and unperceptive towards me. When I dream, they show no humanity to me as well.
