what do your characters look like?

do you base them off celebrities or people?
because i do.........
i find it kind of hard to make up a persons face and what not so i base them off of celebrities and people ive seen
but over time i will kind of forget what the celebrity looks like so my character kind of looks like their own person.

anyway i thought id be interesting and post a picture of a celebrity that one of my charcaters is based off of.
                                  ^^^^^^^^^^this is Taylor Momsen obviously, but my character is only based on her when taylor looks like this, not her now :|
 
anyway my characters name is Kelly ( she totally looks like a Kelly, right?????? or maybe thats just me)

TAYLOR MOMSEN!! I just love The Pretty Reckless! I have another character and her name is Victoria. I made her look like a glamorous barbie doll I used to play with when I was younger. I have many more characters that I've made up. Most of them are based off of barbie dolls or people I know in person. :P

I have a real problem with seeing my characters, i can hear them and talk to them and feel them there  a lot of the time but to have a look at the details of what they look like i have difficulty in doing so, i have tried to base it upon famous people but it feels wired as i feel my dd characters are more real to me than these celebrities are. And I feel that the celebrities don’t do them justice.

Hi, yes I base different character's looks on celebrities because like you, I find it hard to make up faces in my mind. I will google a celebrity and look at lots of pictures of them so I can commit their facial features to my mind as much as I can. I like my daydreams to have as much detail as I can so I like to study different facial expressions to try and keep the characters as "real" as possible. My own character however, isnt based on a celebrity. After years of dd in the third person, Im now trying to dd in the first person so it can feel more real to me. So I dont actually see my character unless she looks in a mirror (if you see what I mean) and then its kind of a fuzzy mental image but she's tall, slim; brunette, long hair, v pretty. My character's "love interest" is based on the actor Paul Walker because thats the kind of look I would go for in real life (given half a chance lol).

My two main characters are different from anyone I have ever seen or at least that I can remember. But I figure they must be based on someone, some celeb but I have yet to nail down who. Maybe someone from my youth that I just don't remember? kind of like a deja vu kind of thing. I feel I remember the faces from somewhere, but I don't know where. I guess it is possible to completely make them up but it seems unlikely. I worry sometimes I will meet someone one day who looks like one of them and freak out. lol
