I have daydreamed when I should be sleeping. Sometimes I dd the whole night. Unbelievable. Then, I am tired the next day. Sometimes which is often, I wake up and want to start dd. I choose tonight to get some sleep and when I wake up tomorrow I want the first thing that I want to do is to hug my son.

Daydreaming never kept me away from sleeping. On the contrary, I think I need more sleep than most people. But daydreams are my good-night-stories. I fall asleep while daydreaming. In the morning I enjoy waking up without the urge to daydream. This lasts for about 20 minutes, where my mind feels healthy, with normal thoughts, plans what I want to do today. After these 20 minutes my daydreams start and I know it is time to get out of bed and get ready for work, help my daughter to prepare for school and so on.

This pattern is everyday the same.

At this point in my life I have almost completely conquered my daydreaming problem. However, when daydreaming had a stronger influence in my life it kept me a wake at night all the time. On a few occasions when I was able to get to sleep while daydreaming at night (perhaps because I was too tired to stay awake) my daydream would carry out into my dreams and on two or three occasions turned into a lucid dream. However, the majority of the time daydreaming at night just left me sleep deprived. Fortunately I can get by with out a whole lot of sleep on a few nights at a time as long as I sleep well the in between my phases of insomnia.

Daydreaming used to keep me up all night, for most of my life.........daydreaming and fear of intruders would keep me up.  It got really bad.  I would be sick all day.  I tried natural methods, but nothing work.  After resisting for many years, I finally gave in and tried sleeping pills.  I have a high tolerance, so it takes 4 prescriptions to get me to sleep every night, but I feel a lot better.
