Hey friends, I deleted my account just day before yesterday because I thought there is no solution for my MD and so its no point wasting time here. I WAS WRONG. I had forgotten that there is no one who will be able to understand me better than you'll. So I came back. Now, coming to the point I've lost interest in everything, I can no more study. So, I took help from our family doctor who said that I may be suffering from 'brain fatigue'. Can you help me out please. My board exams are in March but there are a number of tests arriving before that, infact I have one tomorrow and I'm thinking of not going for it. I had studied everything before hand but obviously without any revision there's no chance of remembering anything. I'm not the one who believes in passing, I am a topper. It would be really nice if i could get any help from you.

ADDITIONAL: I daydream excessively. I don't like socializing.

Have you tried using a bell? If you're studying and you find yourself daydreaming, take a timeout and ring the bell a couple of times. Maybe the bell can wake your brain up a little. If you don't have a bell, you can use a loud ringtone from your cell phone.

Hi Simran,

Why don't you put your daydreams to work .This sort of thing helped me once ,I used to think of my school work not as work but as a mission ,and that I was in charge of a secret force that had to complete that mission and trust me as crazy as this sounds ,it did work ,I did study (I considered them as missions to conquer enemy territory but i did them) Choose your own fantasy make it as vivid as you like ,.You can try that out and see if it helps you focus and make things interesting  .

Welcome back!  I'm so sorry you're struggling.  The only thing that helps me is distraction.  I graduated from a university recently, so I feel your pain.  What I did was just allow myself all the time I needed to do even the smallest task.  If I had a large paper to write, I'd divide it up by day and allow myself all day long to work on it without shaming myself for taking so long.  Same thing with studying.  It took me a lot longer to get anything done than your average person, but I got through it, and you can too.  Hang in there.  We're here for you.
