Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
Its been forever since I've posted her, but I must say that I've finally found relief. I found it through writing.
Now when I say this I really mean it. Everyday I set two hours aside for me to write whatever it is that comes to mind (I prefer 7pm-9pm). And now I'm actually developing two short stories and a novel. Heck, I've even taken writing class to perfect my craft—fiction writing has become my new study.
So perhaps, for some of us, a great relief from the vastness of MD…

NOTE: This is more of a personal thing for me, its no analysis of MD or anything.
So lately I've been yearning to put my MD towards a good creative use, and to find an outlet to express myself. And as a side note, some people say that one of the things that produces MD is the inability to express oneself in his/her environment.
And for the longest time I've wanted to write: fiction,…

So I have been studying Psychology in class lately and we just finished the unit on the Myers Briggs personality test. After taking the test, and being amazed my it's accuracy; I wanted to bring it here and see if there is a common theme of personalities when it comes to Maladaptive Daydreamers. I got INFJ.

Growing up, my favorite comic series was Calvin and Hobbes; simply because I felt that Calvin was just like me. He daydreamed, I daydreamed. Did any of you guys read Calvin and Hobbes, and did you ever feel like you were a kid like Calvin?

Does anyone have any thoughts on MD's effects on an individual's spiritual/religious beliefs? I've been pondering on the question lately and I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas.

So we've all heard the origin stories of growing up with MD, but what about the stories of dealing with MD as an adult? Anyone want to share?

Do we daydream because we feel that we get more meaningful interaction from the characters in our own minds than people in real life? Do we really desire relationships that can touch us to the core? What are your guys' thoughts on this?

So I was in class today listening to music and I entered a "MD-trip" when this song came on and it really upset me that I had to stop myself from "moving" to it. Do you guys have experiences like this?

Recently I've started to actually try and use my MD to do something productive like write a book, has anyone else been doing this?

Do you guys ever wonder why counselors don't know much about MD, or even why its not an official (I don't know what to technically call it) mental issue/disorder?

Why do we daydream? Why do we make up characters and interact with them in the scenarios we choose? This question has been puzzling me for sometime and I think I now finally have an answer. As humans we thrive on human interaction, somewhere out there they're is someone at a party having the best of times. He/she is surrounded by the people they love interacting with and all is good in their minds. I think we daydream because we are lonely in a various amount of ways. Some of us truly have…

Have you guys ever taken fictional characters that already existed and made them better in your fantasy? As in making them more fleshed out, giving them a backstory, etc. because thats what I do in my fantasies, I take characters of fiction that already exist and make them better. Do you guys do that?
PS: In my fantasy I'm always hanging out with Knuckles the Echidna, Garrus Vakarian, and Tuxedo Mask lol!

So where do I begin...
When I was a kid around 4-5 years old, I loved watching animated movies with my Grandmother at her place whenever my family visited. My Grandmother and I would always sit down and watch 101 Dalmatians together because it was my all time favorite Disney animated classic (it still is even today). And I think thats when my MD (Maladaptive Daydreaming) first started to develop. I remember trying to go to sleep one night and closing my eyes and then "poof" I was…
