Hello. I'm from Russia. I am also a dreamer. Dreams is an uncontrolled drug. Same as LSD, heroin, etc. I think Maladaptive Dayreaming much stronger. Because we can not control the intake of these drugs. When the brain wants to get a dose of pleasure he just include Maladaptive Dayreaming and enjoy
I agree that MD can be addictive and extremely hard to control, but I believe that it can be overcome. Daydreams are more subtle than physical drugs, but produce the same pleasurable effects in the brain. I believe that MD can be eventually overcome, but doing so will require a special kind of effort. For me, mindfulness meditation helps tremendously with controlling urges, cravings, and even daydreams.
