I was just looking up recipes for Norwegian cooking.  I also looked up Viking, but that seemed a little undoable to me.  Found some great recipes for current Norwegian, including Swedish meatballs that are, I guess, popular in Norway.  (Of course, called something else.)  Other recipes were for baked lemon salmon and seafood bisque with shrimp.  Will try to put some on here:

I'm planning on joining you. I may have to come as food free entertaining guest only as I have a guest staying this weekend so will be eating later( unfortunately she doesn't like salmon so my plan went out of the window)

I'm making cardamom rolls for sure. I just got home from work and I may peruse the recipes and head out to the store later for something else to cook. I wish I had found some lingonberry jam to have too :(  Maybe I'll make some of the potato pancake recipes, sounds yummy.

Remember dinner tomorrow.  There are some recipes on this thread.  I'm having salmon (recipe), roasted potatoes, fresh peas (anyone know how to cook them - I guess just shell & boil?), cucumber salad, fresh bread with lingonberry jam & lingonberry tart for desserts.  Yum Yum!

Anyone know any Scandinavian poetry?  I did get out my Beowolf, but nothing really struck me.

7 PM in UK.  Hope to "see" you.  That's in 40 minutes.

Thanks everyone for coming.  Is our next dinner to be Indian?  ShaShank (Elite) is willing to provide some recipes, which sounds really fantastic - recipes from an actual Indian cook.  We might think of moving it up a little earlier, since it's Midnight in India at our usual time.  Who all is effected on the other side - western US?  Isn't this great that we are having events for people from all these different time zones?  I love it.

Cordellia, can you ask Cynthia if there is any way for her to join us, even for 20 minutes or so?  She's certainly one of my heroes and I'm sure everyone here feels the same.  We all probably wish we could have gotten in on the research. I'm so delighted the topic was addressed in such a scholarly and respectful way.

I'm finishing up my last bite of lingonberries.  I wish I could send them to everyone.

Indian sounds really fun. I'm in again. It would be really great if Cynthia could say hello for a bit. I understand she is very busy so I'll mostly try to get excited about naan bread and tandoori chicken. I'm still on the lookout for lingonberries. I'd like to see if I could grow them.
Indian sounds like a fantastic idea. So many variations from different regions and wonderful cultural things to discuss at our next dinner.
