Please see JNoland's blog entitled "My attempt to bridge reality, baby steps."  It's on 3rd page of blogs; you'll recognize it by luscious looking scones in picture.

We are planning a Renaissance dinner on 10/14 at roughly 2 PM EDT, which would encompass brunch for US west-coasters, early supper for east-coasters, dinner for Londoners.  Everyone welcome & we'd also like any ideas.  One set menu with recipes?  A smorgasbord of recipes and each picks some?  Whatever works for you.  We could cook & eat (with any family members) and then go on chat part of site to talk after.  DD dates welcome as well.  This could integrate our real world with our MD world.  I know I always envision myself a cook & hostess in my DD, but am not in real life.  I am saying I belong to an on-line historical cooking club (through my university, so it's private.)

This is example of Renaissance menu.  Spinach tarts & roast chicken look good to me.

Is everyone ready for tomorrow.  This will be our dry run for hopefully more to come.  I sent messages to Laila & Katherine, as we haven't heard from them in a few days.  I guess we will go to chat section after eating between 2-3 EDT (7-8 PM in London.   Does that seem OK?
Just got my supplies at the grocery store! I couldn't fresh marjoram but I think I can live without it. And I'm not sure if I want to put mace in my chicken- they didn't have it in the spice aisle anyways. I've decided on "Chicken in Hocchee" which is the chicken stuffed with herbs and red grapes. And the spinach tart made with ready made pastry shells (I'm sure historical people would have used ready made pastry if they could have). I hope I cook it all correctly. Countdown is on!
I'll be at work during that time. So I can't cook but I will try to pop into the chat if work doesn't have chats blocked.
Great, Grey, looking forward to seeing you.  Next time, we'll include you in the time setting.
okay, got my chicken all stuffed and ready to cook. Should I be cooking at 2pm EST or ready to eat?
On the main page under the list of posts there's a chat area. I'm not an expert chatter so I can't give much help but I know if the little dot is red that means you're disconnected from the chat and you click "connect" to chat. EST just means eastern standard time.

how to gi on chat i click on the word chat at top it takes me to blank page and say it out of date

Yeah that happens to me too. But what you can do is scroll over to the word chat, then a little box should drop down saying chat, forum, and video chat by ooVoo. Click on chat to chat with other people online and you should be good!

i dunno wat est means
Let's think about our next event.  I'm thinking Norwegian - is that all fish? - or Indian, since we have people from those cultures that could probably provide a few recipes.  I know not everyone likes to cook, but you wouldn't actually have to.  Imagine that you cooked!  Any way, let's think about it.  We have this Event capacity here; we might as well use it.  We had 9 or 10 people tonight for a first try.

Count me in for the next dinner. I had a really great time getting ot know everyone and now that we've had out initial "dinner" I'll be ready to chat and feeling comfortable. Indian or Norwegian would be fine by me, I'm sure there's something tasty to make either way.
