When you DD for hours, do you remember the first Dream or the Dream in wich you started?

I actually realized that today, when i spend hours on DD i cannot remember the first dream. Ive tried to cathegorize the various dreams i have so i can find a pattern and track the whole origin of the criative energy of my brain.

I propose everyone to make a diary for daydreaming, just a short resume everyday about the themes and emotions of the Dreams. Than reflect about it, and try to discover something logical or patterns or even the origin of the idea itself. I say 'Dont think about Elephants!' What are you thinking about? In Elephants obviously! That was Me planting an Idea into You. But you can Always trace the origin of the idea, you know I gave you this Idea, you didnt created it. Ideas and Thoughts always have inspiration in memories of the real world, thats why its so important to remember the First Dream, to know what triggered the whole day dreaming for hours on end.

Which reminds me, my former cognitive psychology teacher used the "elephants" example on the first day of class. Btw, don't think about ORANGES! Just trying something different... xD

It sounds like your DDs have a lot of events. Mine don't change much because I get stuck on one or two scenes that I replay over and over. There's also a general theme that I get hooked on for months, so I don't have difficulty remembering the first thing I daydreamed about in the morning or the past few weeks. I even remember the first daydream I ever had with my current characters, which was 4 years ago. o_O

Speaking of diaries, I'd like to continue mine. Well, I don't think the one I wrote in when I was 12 really counts because I wasn't being serious or reflecting on my emotions. xD I'm too lazy to write though, so I'm just gonna type and keep these "entries" in a folder labeled Diary. That'll do!

I had that too lol. But i dont know, its like i jumped to a next phase. I had characters with years...i had one that i used to dream about  for 3 years regulary. The imaginary life that i imagined for the character was like a normal routine, so the dream would never end for lack of imagination. But like, 2 years ago i started to dream like it was speed...like when i plug in my headphones and start DD my brain works 200% faster. I barely stopped DD about Characters, i dream about imaginary Societies,i play in Architecture, some events in history that i try to recreate, travelling in time and space etc...

I think that the fact that i solved my self esteem issues helped me to jump to this next phase of Day Dreaming, where you dont dream about characters with a better version of yourself to a phase where its just Pure and Wild Imagination.

Wow, that's very interesting. o_o I can't imagine not having characters in my DDs! However, one of my DDs is a bit more fantasy oriented, where I have a special ability that can make people experience dreams as if they're real...like flying through the clouds, for example. Some of the visuals are very abstract. And similar to the movie, Inception, I let people do fun, imaginative things within the dream space I created. I guess that's my wild imagination, until I'm the center of attention again. Like, the applause at the end and I'm signing autographs. ^-^ Lol.

Inceptions is a fucking great movie, everyone who suffers from MDD should see it. Im almost sure the director of the movie suffers from MDD lol, the "Totems" thing...its what some DayDreamers use to rubb in their hands.

I understand what you say, if there is no characters...what is the purpose of Daydreaming? Exactly, there is never a purpose on DD, why? Because its just You...no one else is seeing what you ara Dreaming....so why dream with a better version of yourself? You cant show it to no one...So, just dream about pure criativity, extremly impossible things and very complex ideas and also on Philosophy...so you can strenght your mind. NOTHING  has a Purpose if you Cant SHARE it. It's just my opinion ;)    Sharing = Happiness
