I was just wondering if anyone else has had some weird or funny reactions from people when you told them about your MD.

Many years back my parents send me to a psychiatrist who concluded that my 'OCD' tendencies (as she diagonosed it), was because I was suffering from post traumatic anxiety, caused by the death of my stillborn twin brother at birth.  She even wanted to send me to a hyponotist who would regress me back to birth so that I could face my underlying anxiety.

I never went back...

No offense to that psychiatrist but i think they're twacked. They say that most people don't even remember anything before the ages of 4 or 5, let alone at birth. That's just my opinion tho...
I totally agree. She was totally cracked! Weird thing is, she came really highly recommended.;o)

its because of things like this that ive generally lost faith in that whole profession

: O

I'd say go just for the sake of an interesting mind trip. If she can indeed get you into it.

She does sound whacked though.

Do you consider yourself OCD?

Yeah, I have a few OCD tendencies, like hand washing and stuff. Nothing too disruptive though. I think that's what threw her off,  she knew there was something going on with me, but things just didn't add up to full blown OCD.  Her main reason for saying I had OCD seemed to be based on my repetitive pacing to music. Which I now know is common in people with MD.

When I told my fiance, he totally accepted it.  No questions asked.  Then he felt inspired to talk all about the book he's been writing...  but he's stuck trying to figure out how to logically work out how certain characters have "special powers".
