staycation: do YOU spend your summers and holidays at home?

I have been spending summers and holiday here at home with my family - who are almost not present - since my grandfather died 2 years ago. So are you also alone during this times?

I live my whole life alone, so yes.  I've spent all Christmases and holidays for over a decade alone.  It bothered me at first, but now I'm used to it.  I was never happy when I was around people during the holidays as a kid because most of them were jerks.  At least when I'm alone no one's treating me badly.

Yes, I spend summers and holidays at home too. Like Cordelia, I'm used to doing this and I'm not sad at all. Currently not working so can't exactly spend money to go on vacations like other people do.

I guess I could relate, but i'm starting to feel lonely when I'm alone, probably because i'm not daydreaming as much. So it gives me all the anxiety that I don't need or do I?

that's how I felt before because I thought I didn't need the people around me because I have my mind

I'm always home because my parents wont teach me to drive or let me go get a license. I only take one class a semester so i dont really make friends. Its sucks being at home because i became their maid but hey hopefully i can beg someone to take me around to apply for jobs this summer. i

sounds good, that's alittle like me too because they made me wash dishes, and when I wash dishes i tend to daydream about anything. it's awful

Yeap, this happens to me every summer nothing fun to do because no one to do it with. It kind of feels like a waste being 21 going on 22 and all and everyone talks about this being the best/most socially active time of life. Hopefully that will change this year if I meet anyone my age who I get along with at work or volunteering but who knows....

I'm only 17, still living at home, but usually I go to Dad's for 4-7 days in the holidays (I also go there every other weekend) and generally hole up in my room, like I spend the rest of my free time, or sometimes going to the dining room to paint. I go out with friends sometimes, (friends almost always being one at a time, and often they actually come over) but that might only be a couple or three days in the holidays.
