So last year around this time of year I was severly sleep deprived and I was also on a very strict diet. I ate almost nothing. I also had a lot of uni work(so much stress!) and lets just say I was a mess. I remember waking up and feeling like I was hit by a bus! Anyway I went to my university(which is an hour a way). when I got there I felt so sleepy like my eyes couldn't stay open. I also felt so tired and dizzy. I thought what the hell its only 2 more hours. As I was going to the subway I was daydreaming that I was my ideal self and was dressed in super pretty clothes(i love fashion!) then everything went black and I saw my ideal self walking towards me. I blink and then everything was back to normal.(this all happened in a matter of seconds) Then I went home and ate and fell asleep like a normal person. It hasn't happened to me ever since. but anyway was that a hallucination? It wasn't scary and I knew that what i was seeing wasn't real. I concluded that it happened because I was so tired and hungry and stressed!
Anyways I'm not really worried about it but what do you guys think? Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Can't say for certain, but I do know severe sleep deprivation and nutritional neglect can both cause physiological changes that can produce visual hallucinations.
