How to control maladaptive daydreaming while studying

Guys it's been 10 years since I was daydreaming. And now its really hard to control it, I am not able to concentrate on my studies. Anyone please tell some measures to control it.

Xyz, as someone who has studied a lot, I understand your pain. MD mostly persists when you have "brain space" for it, when you just need to read something or do some mindless chore. Try to remember the times where you did not MD, aside of when you were with people. What did you do? How did you feel? Were you more active? More watched? Maybe write down the activities, and then think about each one in turn (how could you MD in that case? What stopped you?).

For starters, you gotta attack that learning in a more hands-on fashion - listen to an audiobook or watch a youtube and write down notes about it; make sketches of what you're learning; do something with your hands at all times, try to immerse yourself in the study as best as you can. Don't listen to music if you have the energy for it. Tell your parents or boss you'll write a summary on X, and if you don't deliver, they should hold you accountable.

Did your exam go well?

That's why I recommend using google meet or zoom to stay connected with your friends and study with them. I did that for two semester exams and I got good grades in both of them. 4 of us came in google meet, one of us presented the material and we were studying. No room for MDing at all.

I agree with you guys but right now I am in home and so are my friends. See, my problem is in self study. When I attend online classes or studying through YT videos then i can concentrate for a little bit but when it comes to study on my own my mind just ran away.

I agree with Karuba here having supportive friends to help you study helps, I personally Had help from a tuition.
I knw concentrating is a really difficult task, its the same way for me too, I hate concentrating !! I don't even have any tuition so i just expend the entire day on daydreaming instead of learning for my exam which is on 1st July btw

For me, studying alongside my best friends helped. Since I know they'd keep me in check and get me on track if I'm ever distracted. It works similar to how you feel like working out more so in a gym rather than at home. If you can get an environment, where you have to study, then it'll be easy to stay focused.
