So, I had this poem that I wrote years ago, and completely forgot about until I was thinking about trying to write again. I searched through my notebooks but couldn't find it and then I remembered that a friend of mine saw it and asked if he could use it for a song/spoken word type thing. I said yes so I thought he might have still had it on his computer and he did!

So he emailed it to me and as I read it, I realized how close it  hit home with my daydreaming (back before I ever knew what it was). I don't remember what was going through my head when I wrote it, but I think it describes my feelings fairly well and maybe some of yours too. I figured I would share.

Confusion sets in

and your mind is the enemy

Open your heart

and let it all flow free

Calling and searching

can you ever reach me?

When life is a dream

lost in your memory

Promise me, promise me

not to drown in uncertainty

Holding on too tight

or letting go loosely

Falling too short

or sitting there endlessly

Heart pounding faster

hands sweating fiercely

Trapped on the inside

aching to burst the peace

Open your tear-stained eyes

and let them see

all you have to do is speak

just speak to me.

Well there it is. It just kind of came out one day, I don't know if its that great but I do know that I felt pleased once it was out.

thank you. I think sometimes if you just get what you're feeling out then you feel better afterwards. Even if it doesn't make much sense and it didn't really at the time I wrote it. Its amazing how we are in tune to ourselves without realizing it.

And I hope to write more soon.. hopefully.. ;)

I write poetry, too. This really inspires me to write a poem about my daydreaming habits. Thank you for posting this, It's really nice.

I'm not much of a critic, but in my opinion, it's bloody amazing!

And it does make me think a little of MD
