So angry. What kind of people are on here?

Yesterday a member posted some pics that I found beyond shocking and offensive.  He posted a pic joking about rape, another joking about murder, and a photo of Osama Bin Laden.  I deleted them as soon as I saw them and emailed him angrily asking why he thought it was okay.  He sent me back a long email basically saying that it would be okay if he posted a pic of Bush and that it's basically the same thing.  It is NOT the same thing.  

When I mentioned this on facebook another member, who's very young, basically just ignored the part about Bin Laden and criticized American foreign policy.  

What kind of members do we have on here?  Do you all really think that America is as bad as Osama Bin Laden?  Have people really forgotten what that horrible terrorist has done?  Do they not even care?  He killed THOUSANDS of people.  Why do people not understand that?  Why do they not care?  I can only assume this is out of complete ignorance.  I just don't understand how people can be so blind and not care.  

 

Regardless of the ignorance out there, this is my site, and I don't have to put up with it.  That member who posted those horrible pics is gone.  He's no longer welcome here.  The other member on my facebook might have their membership in question.  I know there are a lot of people who hate America out there.  I can't change the world, but I don't have to put up with hatred on my site.  

IF THERE'S ANYONE OUT THERE WHO SUPPORTS OSAMA BIN LADEN, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE AND WILL BE REMOVED.  

I don't care if there are people out there who disagree with America's foreign policy.  That doesn't make us worse than that mass murderer.  Anyone who wants to criticize this country can leave as well.  I will not support hatred on here.  I will REMOVE anyone who shows hatred of any kind, including displaying horrible pictures like that, PERIOD.

Anyone with an unrestricted internet connection should know that a government is not it's people and the people are not their government. Mass murder for ANY reason is not okay. I'm glad you got rid of the pics and member. It was probably someone too young to realize what they were actually doing. In any regard this site is not for political opinions. There's plenty of other sites to post immature comparisons to world leaders and homicidal maniacs. I'm going to DD that that member has to live in an oppresive country somewhere ;) kidding, only kidding.

Good on you for telling him. Such people need to know their actions and views are unacceptable. Or else they will keep doing it.

Good for you, Cordellia.  We may have our problems here, and we do, but we are still so lucky to be born here.  Why is this the number one country people are trying to get into if it's so bad.  I'm a social worker, so I'm not naive about the poverty and hardship here, but at least, thank God, we're allowed to protest it, which I have loudly for years.  In other countries and regimes, you would be killed for protesting the way I have for years.  I'm off my soapbox now.
