So angry. What kind of people are on here?

Yesterday a member posted some pics that I found beyond shocking and offensive.  He posted a pic joking about rape, another joking about murder, and a photo of Osama Bin Laden.  I deleted them as soon as I saw them and emailed him angrily asking why he thought it was okay.  He sent me back a long email basically saying that it would be okay if he posted a pic of Bush and that it's basically the same thing.  It is NOT the same thing.  

When I mentioned this on facebook another member, who's very young, basically just ignored the part about Bin Laden and criticized American foreign policy.  

What kind of members do we have on here?  Do you all really think that America is as bad as Osama Bin Laden?  Have people really forgotten what that horrible terrorist has done?  Do they not even care?  He killed THOUSANDS of people.  Why do people not understand that?  Why do they not care?  I can only assume this is out of complete ignorance.  I just don't understand how people can be so blind and not care.  

 

Regardless of the ignorance out there, this is my site, and I don't have to put up with it.  That member who posted those horrible pics is gone.  He's no longer welcome here.  The other member on my facebook might have their membership in question.  I know there are a lot of people who hate America out there.  I can't change the world, but I don't have to put up with hatred on my site.  

IF THERE'S ANYONE OUT THERE WHO SUPPORTS OSAMA BIN LADEN, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE AND WILL BE REMOVED.  

I don't care if there are people out there who disagree with America's foreign policy.  That doesn't make us worse than that mass murderer.  Anyone who wants to criticize this country can leave as well.  I will not support hatred on here.  I will REMOVE anyone who shows hatred of any kind, including displaying horrible pictures like that, PERIOD.

Thank you for this wonderful site Cornellia. Do not bother about crazy people who need to make other feel bad just to feel good with themselves. Actually I learned to pity  such people. They are really nothing and try to make themselves important by making other react.

It is good you are over it. But if some crazy people come to your forum again delete them and do not think more about them. Think about every person you helped by making this forum. This really count. 

Trust your feeling. This forum has to be what you want it to be. There are other forum to discuss other subjects. Thank you for having this forum about MD.

Bravo for your strength.  We cannot control anyone's thoughts (we can barely control our own!) but as I and most other people signed up for a safe, non-judgemental environment, I think it's prudent to keep an eye on the people using the site.

I just removed James's comment because the whole point of this blog post was that I don't want to see negative things about America or any country on here.  This is not meant to create a discussion about why people like or don't like America.  I SERIOUSLY don't want any of that here.

I'm really not interested in hearing about why people dislike America.  I understand it, but this isn't the place for it.  It's not the place to post hatred of any kind, including pics of mass murderers, or to rant on America or discuss politics.  My point is that this kind of thing is not welcome here.  I don't want to see it.

I am very unashamedly not open-minded on Osama Bin Laden.  This is not a political forum.  I don't want politics here, and I definitely don't want hatred towards anyone here.  This person created 2 more accts geared at disparaging America.  We talked later, so I think he should be gone now.  I will absolutely not accept that kind of negativity here.  I'm not sorry for defending my site.

OMG the same person just signed up for 2 more accounts, and even snuck on a negative comment before I suspended him.  I didn't want to do this, but now I'm requiring approval for all new members.  I don't want him sneaking on while I'm asleep and posting his propaganda.  This isn't the place for that.  This is my site, and I'm going to protect it.

Thanks, guys.  Both incidents really bummed me out.  I hope not everyone in New Zealand (and the world, for that matter) has this opinion of us.

i feel honored to have such a strong person not tolerate such outrageous pictures or posts. I appreciate it. theres enough bad people in the outside world, we dont need more on such a sight like this where most people open up their most confined secrets. Thankyou Cordellia.
