Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
Is it possible not to make the choice? Is this true that any time we make an important (or even any) choice, we create a parallel universe, where the scenrario is like what would happen, if we made a difference choice? Is it possible to be in two places at the same time? Is this true that my dreams are the life of alternate me in parallel universe and my life is the dream of alternate me in parallel universe? Quantum physics answers "yes" to all above questions. It's hard and boring to explain, but if you watched Sliding Doors, Mr Nobody or What the Bleep Do You Know, you got the idea of this.
There is also neurobiology. It says that for our brain it doesn't make a difference, if we see something, remember something or imagine something. Same parts of the brain are activated, it can cause same emotions.
There is also business and game theory. They say that to win you need to find "a third solution" as standard solutions are alredy used by the others, so you limit your chances for success. Ok, you can also lose badly, if your solution doesn't work.
There is also experience. It says that I have the need to activate certain parts of the brain to feel happy. But as my dreams were changing all the time in the past, I can conclude, it didn't really matter which dream to have, I only needed brain activation. And the activation had to be like in Discovery channel - a merge of science and emotions.
There is also my mom. She says that I have to stop sleeping with nerds as they destroy my brain :D
Anyway. Below is the conclusion based on above facts (except the last one; sorry, mom, there are four forces vs. your experience). So, I have to make "to dream or not to dream" choice, but not to make it. This implies being in two places at the same time (as you know, this IS possible). I need to activate my brain, but not abuse it. I need to find a "third solution".
So, as of today my life splits. I'm making a choice but not making it. I make a choice to live in reality, but this is not really a choice as another me doesn't make it. As of today, another me stays in day-dreaming life, or my past life, if you wish. Neurobiology said that for brain it doesn't make the difference. So, yeah, I will be in TWO PLACES AT THE SAME TIME.
Ok, cuting the long story short, proving my sanity and to demonstrating the practical solution: most of the time during the day I'm going to live in reality, to live the life of the person I imagine is not a day-dreamer (so, she doesn't dream excessively). However, every day between 7 and 8 am, before going to work I have time to write, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I STAYED IN MY PREVIOUS, DAY-DREAMING LIFE. If I don't use this time for whatever reason, it means that reality needs more time.
So, I have everything: living in reality, living in dreams but controlling them, occupying my brain and... ugh... further developing scenario thinking skills. After all, I'm paid for scenario thinking.

Thanks for comments, I'm really happy someone else is interested in the topic :)
@Julia LaVey. I may recommend a movie "Poskramiacze kwantów", it's in Polish and on Youtube. There are also a few books about the link on quantum physics and psychology or phylosophy, and actually this is the most interesting thing about it, not the formulas themselves. About the "third way" I don't know how to translate it, I had Games theory in English and it was called "third way" or "bargain case", in business this is called "win-win solution". We got used to thinking that constrains are given, we can do nothing about them, so we should operate within constrains. But within constrains there is only win-lose solution, so another side will do its best to win, hampering your chances. But if we stop thinking about only winning against the other side (also can be alternate you) but look again at constrains, we may probably remove some of them. Then even losing won't be so hurtful for you and the other side. This is not about compromising with the other side, compromises are bad - then both sides actually lose. This is about changing the rules of the game. And, yes, Mr Nobody is too pretensious :)
@Jane Wilson. Sincerely, I would feel honored, if I could read a bit of your stories or an abstract. Non linear time and all choice made at once (do I understand it correctly?) sounds really fascinating. I think, I'm getting a bit crazy, when thinking about it or trying to create my parallel universe "what would happen if difference choices is made". I also hope, one day I will start putting the bits and pieces of my crappy sci-fi together and will do some writing, too :)
@Henrik. I'm actually try to spend this morning time on writing down, while dreaming (as regular people), when I have time, like waiting for someone, brushing teeth, making some dull but unavoidable tasks and so on. Maybe, it will be better, I don't know. Maybe, I will be like Pavlov's dog and will teach myself to dream ONLY when waiting for someone, brushing teeth, doing dull tasks, etc. We will see.
