OVER ACTIVE BRAIN- BLESSING OR CURSE

i dont know why but whenever i have a question,i usually dont find it in other blogs...so i'm gonna start it........all MDs have an overactive brain...i mean we are(or is it just me? ) always thinking, daydreaming, imagining scenes/stories,making plans....etc etc. We hardly have a moment of peace when our brain is not super busy...i want to know if it is a good thing or a bad thing.my mom told me that when she was a student, she could solve equations and remember huge answers in her brain...she did it when she did boring works like cleaning or eating.this habit served her well, she scored highest in her batch...anway....she wasnt a MD,she is totally normal, she just had an active brain. In my case..i cant stop my mind from thinking,ever...even while i'm writing this,i'm replaying the trailer of god of war 4 in my mind. Does this happens to everybody? Is there any way to use this to our advantage? If anyone experienced this, please share.

It's interesting that your mother has an active mind too. Everyone in my family seems to have very active minds. We are all very creative, ambitious, quirky people. As a daydreamer, I obviously spend a lot of time inside my head. When I'm doing something mundane, I often "watch" movies or TV shows I've seen, but I do this unconsciously, and I often don't even notice I'm doing it at first. When I'm extremely bored, I'll often draw lines on the walls to create convex polygons in the most efficient way possible, or rearrange books so they go from shortest to tallest. Yeah, I'm weird. But I can't say I think about things as much as my siblings and parents do. I often tell them they over-think otherwise simple matters. I'm not really into philosophy and analysis, but I do like to understand the way things work.

There's nothing wrong with having an active mind. The only disadvantage I can think of is that it could be a distraction when you're supposed to be focusing on something else, like school or work, but that's what discipline is for. If we can find something to which we can apply our active minds, that's when our craziness will allow us to shine and do amazing things. :)

I'm an extravert—one of the few in my family. As a result, I feel really out of place and deprived of my need for interaction. Extraverts are just as capable as introverts when it comes to intuition and deep thinking. The difference is where they get their energy. Extraverts feed off the external world: physical activity, interacting with people, etc. Introverts draw their energy from within by thinking and spending their time alone. They become overwhelmed by too much external stimulation.

I remember reading a bit about introversion and extroversion, and how introverted brains (when the person is doing nothing, just lying there) are much more active than an extroverted brain, so I think most introverts might be something like this, though I can't say for sure. And no, you're not the only one with such a busy brain, there are plenty of others.
