September 28th: 38 day driving license challenge.

November 4th, exam day... Well... -Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted- R Pausch.

I've never failed anything I've worked so hard for before. I've failed before, but I could always blame it on my MD. This time I gave it my all and came up short. Not. Good. Enough. I was crushed, I cried for a day... then quoted some Batman, swallowed my pride and called to set up new lessons with my driving instructor.

It didn't take 38 days, it took 80 days, It made me a safer driver, it made me more humble and I got to live these words: "Why do we fall sir? So we might learn to pick ourselves up " -Alfred Pennyworth-

On December 17 2012, I earned my driving license.

Comment by Elizabeth on December 20, 2011 at 8:42am: YAY congrats!! I do MD some when I drive, I love cruising around listening to music but I always feel in control. Its not so bad that I am not aware of my surroundings, I'm too afraid to let myself DD completely in fear of an accident. I live where there is pretty much zero public transportation, so driving is a must. I commuted to college and I enjoyed the drive more than the destination sometimes. It was like my alone time that wasn't seen as strange or withdrawn because I have to drive so nobody can frown upon it lol.

I know your drivers tests are probably different to what we have in NZ, but on my learners (theory only) it took me 4 tries to pass. My sister finished her test (when they still used scratchy things. Now they have computers) in about 5 minutes and passed, first time. Lucky her...

And Cordellia? Lucky you. Here, it usually sucks a bit. If you're not at all late, Switzerland is really good with it, and Vanuatu is too (they have no bus routes but tonnes and tonnes of buses you just flag down. The main difference between buses and Taxis is that taxis don't pick randoms up on the way to wherever.)
