Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
“You’re supposed to be the leading lady in your own life, for God’s sake!”
-Arthur Abbott, The holiday-
I’m rarely the leading lady in my own life, in real life I shy away and escape to DDs. In my MD world I’m a leading lady, but it’s not "my own life".
My new years resolution is to stay true to myself, unconditionally.
I’m going to merge my MD world with my real life.
In my DD, I’m no longer going to be the super hero/vampire/nobel prize winner/what ever... I’m going to be myself.
In my real life I’m going to be everything I’m in my DDs, not the shallow “celebrity/billionaire..” nonsense, I’m going to be the smart, sexy, confident, amazing woman that always sticks up for her friends, cooks a perfect bloody steak, kicks ass at work and if needed, would lead an attack against an invading alien force. F-14s can’t be that hard to fly, right?
BFF and the ultimate partner in crime... i.e. the girl that always gets me into trouble.
Little red dress.
Posh party.
Lots and lots of champagne...
Tonight, I am the leading lady in my own life.
Game on 2012!

Thanks, Lightman. What a great way to start off the New Year - even 2 years later. Hey, a great idea is a great idea. BTW, is The Holiday quote from the Jude Law character? Just loved him in that.
I hope I have tried in some ways over the last 2 years to blend the 2 personas. It is harder than it sounds as there is such a thrill in being the very thing I am not. But I am going to put some conscious effort into seeing where it might be beneficial to merge them. Still think this is one of the most important topics/ discussions/ points of interest to consider. Hope all is well with you, Lightman. You always brought up such interesting ideas.
This is the post I meant - I just responded to your discussion. I have been thinking about this all day - ways that my DD persona can become more like my real self & ways I can become more like my DD self. Thanks, I think this is important.
Happy new year & love the red dress.
Happy New Years and that's great. I hope it works out for you.
Happy New Year! ^_^*huggles*
