Acting it out

I haven't picked up a script in years but I am proud of myself for contacting our local theatre company today. I had a chat to a guy about volunteering my time backstage until I get my confidence back. So I'm meeting up with a few people over the weekend about the upcoming production. How cool is that! And quite an easy step.

I love performing, although I'm not sure if I can learn lines the way I used to. Has anyone else done theatre performance before? You can be creative up to a point, but also be open to what the Director wants.

Maybe I should give writing a go too. I feel like I need a creative outlet to keep me balanced. Wish me luck! (:

James and Jenna - amazingly I have always been shy myself. I find that acting makes it easy to become someone else, and in the characters' skin I am more comfortable. Introducing myself at a performance was more nerve racking for me than acting in the play! But I guess we all strive to do what we are comfortable in doing, and hope to enjoy it! Go the writing, if that's your thing. Without good writers, us actors/actresses haven't got a leg to stand on! :D

I do mostly acting as an extra  and have done theater, it is hard at first to memorize lines, but it comes back and it's so much fun. I tried it 4 years ago and hadn't done it in years, it was scary but so exciting. I think you should definitely try it. I would love to do more theater again one day.

Ohh that sounds like fun. I want to try acting but I'm really shy, so it would be hard for me to go on a stage and do that. I can write really good though. Well at least I like to think so.XD Sorry I was kind of rambling on. Anyways yeah I'm happy for you.
