Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
I was recently thinking about this, and although you guys might not be the best to ask, since you're all daydreamers, I do wonder what you think other people are doing all day. I mean, of course, they work, do homework, have hobbies and such. But those boring moments: waiting for a bus, trying to fall asleep, doing the dishes. What are they thinking? Nothing?
I was at a rather boring concert last week and somebody told me I looked as if I was thinking deep thoughts, of course I was daydreaming. That made me think: what did she think during a boring concert? Any ideas?

I think people who do not DD have to keep really busy because they don't really DD. We've all heard of society being SO BUSY all the time and I think people who don't DD just have to occupy the time with chores and things, or it could be active past times. As for what they are thinking when doing when at a bus stop? Not much I don't think. I've seen people constantly texting. I think people do a lot of planning in their minds like what they are going to do for dinner, what they have to do tomorrow, etc. Maybe they DD a little but not like us. In your example of the concert the person was probably focused on the concert when its something to pay attention to. Also, I don't think people who don't really DD like we do think that these things are boring. That's strange to us because we need a high level of mental activity to net get "bored". The question always pops up in our minds if we are doing the wrong thing by DDing. I think we have the best of both worlds if we strike a happy balance and don't let it control our lives in areas where it shouldn't be (easier said than done I know)....so ya anyway those are just my thoughts.
Well apparently, she was thinking about you, lol. =P She sounds very observant. Perhaps that's what non-MDers do more of, just observe and live in the moment. At any rate, here's an old thread similar to this which also has some pretty interesting answers. xD
I was listening to a conversation the other day between a teacher and a classmate of mine, they were talking about what the student was doing that weekend. Her whole weekend was planned pretty much down to the minute. She didn't have any time to herself at all (as far as I could tell). I can't understand at all how people can stand being that busy. I risk having a meltdown just at having a single thing planned.
I am not sure that that is how most people spend their freetime but I can't imagine what else they could possibly do (not having MD sounds dangerously dull).
Ah, thanks for the link. Sorry I didn't see it: I tried to search the forum for it, but didn't use the right key words.
"Living in the moment" sounds better than "dangerously dull" but I suppose both are true of non-MD folk. It's true that some of my friends cannot stand to be alone for even a second, I guess they need constant entertainment more than we do.
