How do you deal with life's commitments?

Ok so my mum is struggling to deal with the fact that iv now been isolated in my room for pretty much 4 months, apart from the odd trip out n a few shifts each month at work.
She is bothered about my finances and has asked me how other sufferers manage to spend so much time DDing yet still manage to run a house n pay bills etc.
She says if I had my own place I wouldn't be able to waste my life like this. She doesn't really seem to understand that I can help it, she thinks it's more that I choose to do it.
So I guess my question is how do u guys cope with the financial requirements of daily life when u struggle to get yourself to work? As its not a registered disorder yet, I'm guessing it's not possible to claim any benefits?
I'm also being forced to see a Doctor tomorrow and I'm dreading it because my mum has seen him today and together they both seem to think MD is just something iv found online and it isn't real or genuine and they think I do have a serious mental illness because I'm in isolation most of the time but they think it's depression and anxiety rather than MD. Iv tried antidepressants in the past and it did nothing for me because I'm not depressed. I'm quietly concerned really as I don't think I'm going to be taken seriously.

I've been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, despite telling my doctor about MD. He told me not to worry about it, because "it's not a medical diagnosis, just a compilation of subjective experiences." It's so frustrating....

Oh no that is so annoying. That's what I'm dreading. Not taken seriously n wrongly diagnosed. Hopefully one day MD will become an official diagnosis then we won't have to keep fighting to be listened to xx
