hi all,

just joined and was wondering on age groups.what age you may have decided to tell or talk about you md.

im 41yrs old and have lived most of my life when being real in fear, anxiety, self loathing,BOREDOM,thinking i was the craziest of crazy.it took sooo many years for me to find anything, anyone, the slightest bit of info that was ME.

i finally found possibly the closest description around 9 years ago when i was dx with a dissociative disorder.then from there after years in the library to the days of computer (which im still a novice)i eventually found other mders.my life has changed so much since then.

for the better of course.im not saying i dont daydream,i do,but the amount of stress is different.

anyhow just wanted to say hi,from and oldie.

hey, well if you're an oldie, what does that make me? I'm 46. Now I am different then most on here, I have NOT had it most my life. MD started for me a year ago along with other menopasue symptoms like depression, anxiety, etc and I started searching for answers thinking I had lost my mind and found this site. I consider it more of complusive fantasy then daydreaming.

Hello Sue,

I'm 46. There are a few other folks on here in our age range of 40+.

I don't have what most of the folks on here call MD. There is no recognized condition called MD and there is some disagreement as to what it may or may not be.

The forum benefits from discussion and opinions from people of all ages and points of view.

You are all making me feel oooold.

This makes me feel so young, at 16 and a half =) Thanks guys, because sometimes I feel so old because I don't particularly like touch screens and don't understand why people seem to think they're so amazing.

Anyway, um, I told people about my MD/CF (I prefer the term Compulsive Fantasy, as it describes what we do better, though I do always say I've been DDing rather than fantasizing.) within a month of telling the doctor about it, which was within about 3 weeks of discovering it and doing what research I could. It was around (I think just after) my 16th birthday (mid Dec) I stumbled across CF (Thank you, SixBillionSecrets/SpartzMedia Network) and so yeah, around March or April or something, I decided I don't care who knows. So yeah. Hope that answers your question, but knowing me I interpreted it really incorrectly 'cause I'm really quite tired. Stupid RealCare baby. Why did I volunteer? Sorry, rambling. I do that a lot.

thanks everyone who welcomed me or answered to my post.its great to know im not the only mmmm, whats the expression, wiser age group member, lol.it is however fantastic that there are so many younger.it gives me a great feeling knowing that younger ones are finding people to share with far younger than i did.at 16 i was in complete turmoil and felt so alone.i suppose it is one of the wonders of the internet.we never need be alone again.

best wishes to all

glad you here too.

I'm 42 and have never said a word to anyone. I have been doing this for as long as I can remember. I'm so happy to have a place to read about and talk about it now.
