Hi, everyone! I am new to this website and I thank you for sharing your space with me.

In reading many of your posts, I relate and feel so grateful to have found an environment of care and understanding. I've been grappling with MD since I was 12 without really understanding it or putting a term to it until recently.

The hardest part of MD for me is feeling like I am going through it alone, especially when I'm not able to articulate my symptoms and experiences in a way that makes sense to my 'neurotypical' family and friends. Thus, I am seeking to get to know friends around my age on this platform safely. I believe in full inclusivity in my life, so I don't mean to shut down anyone who is older and probably carries immense wisdom to share about MD, I am just seeking to find someone in my own stage of life to relate with. I am 21, so anyone 18-28 would be lovely. I'd prefer to communicate through email or snapchat.

Thank you so much for your time and I wish you all a wonderful day.

Best,

Shelby (she/her)

Hello! My name is Andrae, rather Ted, I am 22 years old now and also new here because I finally realized that my optimism, which is a huge part of my identity, is in in large parts a form of MD.

I realized that so much of my happiness is based off of future scenarios that I envisioned myself in. I did that to escape my present which is pretty sad and empty most of the time. But now I want to change that and accept the present and do stuff now that will make me able to have that future that I am longing for. Cause I know that I can if I get my shit together because I still believe I am a cool person but I just need to get my shit together and stop this vicious cycle. And for that I agree, it is good to know people that struggle in a similar way. Looking forward to your reply!

Greetings,

Ted (he/him)

Hey Shelby!

I´m new here too und just saw your post. I'm more of an immersive daydreamer, so if you want to stop MD I´m probably not the right person, but we can talk about experiences and issues if you want. I've never done this before, to be honest, but maybe it'll help both of us deal with it better. However, I'm 29, so if you're looking for someone younger, that's fine with me too. :)

Hi! I feel the same....im 25 years old, if you want to talk!
We can exchange emails and talk about anything...i dont really know how to deal with my MD state, actually i just found out this month that there was a name and more people with exactly my "symptoms".

Hi Ted!

I am so sorry that this is late! I've been bogged down with schoolwork.

Thank you for your reply! I totally resonate with the symptoms you are describing and would love to talk over email. Feel free to reach out to me at shelbymd2925@gmail.com to talk more about our experiences w/ MD in our early 20s.

Best,

Shelby

Hi Kathi!

I hope that you're doing well. I apologize for the extremely late reply--college has been a struggle to keep up with!

Thank you for your kind response and 29 definitely doesn't exclude you from the category of a new friend, 18-28 was just a ballpark estimate. Feel free to write me at shelbymd2925@gmail.com if you feel comfortable!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best,

Shelby

Hi Maria!

Thank you for your response! You can definitely reach out to me and explain your symptoms. It helps navigate what we're individually going through to talk about it with people that understand, I believe. I just haven't had any friends that do fully empathize yet! My email is shelbymd2925@gmail.com. Feel free to reach out :)

Also, I found out the term MD this past summer, so I understand the dual fear and relief in discovering a diagnosis.

Best,

Shelby

I'm wondering if the three of us can have an email chain and create a support group? Let me know your comfortability and thoughts!

Hey all! I think that's a good idea, but email is perhaps a bit complicated? Do you have a Discord account? Btw there is also a very active MD/ID channel there.

I don't currently have a Discord, but will make one now. :)

I just made a server! Feel free to join and talk with me :)

Hey, would you mind sharing info on the MD/ID channel there? I'd love to join it. Thanks!
