I'm a 17 year old and MD has been severely affecting my studies for the past two years. I need bring down my daydreaming time to just a few hours per day so that I can give that time to studies.
I have tried searching for possible remedies but couldn't find any. Regarding therapists or psychologists most people wrote that their therapist didn't knew about MD and wasn't able to help much. So what should I do? Should I try meditation and other things to improve my condition. (If yes then please share resources/links/ advice to help myself) Or should I find a therapist/psychologist? (Please keep in mind that I'll have much difficulty in finding a therapist)

Hi Harshit,

Im from India as well. Im 22 now and i can already picture when i was 17 and had to study. It can be quite a task, especially with MD.

It think what would help is meditation and journaling. i started journaling because when you're already out of time, meditation seems like a huge task for the day. So start small, maybe one page.

For me, i was really scared of not performing well on my exams. So my MD was evasive. So writing about that would be a good start. if you think you relate.

Best of luck.

Your situation is  exactly like what was mine when I was 17. I can tell you how to get rid of MD, but trust me it's not an intelligent thing to do. First of all always remember you should never feel guilty for your MD. It's the best coping mechanism for creative minded people. As per my experience, the ideal situation would be if you are able to limit your MD regularly for a fixed time and give equal importance to your waking life when you are not daydreaming. I know that is extremely difficult to  do, in fact that is why it's called maladaptive. But if you somehow find out a way to achieve this balance, you will definitely come out as a winner in anything you do.

Hello I'm new here, yesterday was my first appointment with a psychologist so im just getting started on this journey. What helped me with my studies is to actually use MD, i made up that i was tutoring someone, a teacher or a big ass professor at the university. Like this it was easier to learn and actually helped to memorize everything. Otherwise i just blankly stared at the papers for hours untill it was to late en due to the rush, came the pannick attacks
(Sorry for bad english)
