Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
I always thought that as I grow up, the pacing and daydreaming would get better as I grow up. but I feel that the situation has gotten even worse. I am years old and have been daydreaming ever since I can remember. It's embarrassing and humiliating for an adult to be pacing all around the house and everyone knows no matter how much secrecy I might try to keep. It is painful. I can't study or maintain a hobby because I cannot concentrate for too long. I have to pace every min or so.
Does anyone else feel the same way?

Hi sakshi,
Yes I relate to your story. I'm almost 50 and still struggling with it. Yet recently I learned that really the start of change is by beginning to accept yourself, with all your MD craziness to it :). Pls stop beating up yourself, you can help it as little as someone with OCD can help compulsively cleaning his house. It's a condition you didn't ask for but simply emerged in your life. a condition that's still very new and not recognized by the DSM manual. You didn't exactly choose MD, didn't you?
But believe me, I know it's frustrating at times to spent all the time in your head, intertwining with your stories. I've found a few doors that help me get past this condition. If it helps you, you can read my post. In any way, good luck finding yourself again :)
Thanks
