I just wanted to say that since I found this website (actually thanks to Yahoo. Yahoo actually posted something worth it.), I've felt better about myself.

I never knew of anyone who had this condition and I didn't even think it had a name. I just thought I was insane. I even thought about going to therapy because of it (although I don't have enough money to do that.) Know that there is other people out there with this same condition and being able to talk to people about without them making me feel like I'm insane has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders!

I'm still afraid to tell my closest friends or my family but one day, hopefully I can (only my closest friends know I'm bisexual but my family doesn't. I think it's on the same branch with this  to be honest. It's like coming out of the closet and letting people know who you really are.)

Thanks to everyone who has talked to me so far. I hope to make great friends on here and talk to more people. <3

I found this site the same way you did. I actually have told quite a few of my friends and also my mother but not one single person takes it seriously or is even curious about it. They've all just brushed it off. Pretty disappointing that no one showed any interest in a huge part of me.

Agree with you, Ziggy. Being afraid to be completely open about excessive daydreaming when for so many years it was something I kept hidden from everyone. I can only imagine the reaction from some members of my family if I tried to explain my daydreams and what drives me to create my fantasies. When I read the article on Yahoo I immediately clicked on the link to this site, what a sense of relief to know I'm not alone.

It is exciting and still scary. I'm still afraid to be completely open about it even to people who are going through the same thing. It's just odd talking about it I guess.

It's that Yahoo article that got me here too. I saw the title of it and my heart immediatly jumped into my throat. "When Daydreaming Becomes Too Much," I knew it, the second I saw it I knew it; this is what I'd been searching for. Now just to have a word for it: Maladaptive Daydreaming. What a relief that brings! To see other people thinking the exact same thoughts I am.

This is exciting but still a little scary at the same time, isn't it?

Thank you for joining and being part of our group.  You are most welcome here.  (And as for your bisexuality, I am staunchly pro LGBT rights, so that's not a problem here.)  I hope one day the world will know about us, so no one will feel alone and crazy like many of us once did.
