Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
So this is pretty unrelated to daydreaming, just some ramblings. Winter is a'comin now soon. It's November and snow hasn't hit my city yet, which is quite unusual. I'm used to blistering cold and knee deep snow by mid-October, lasting till the beginning of May. It's odd that it hasn't begun to snow yet, and in a weird way I sort of miss it. I love winter! For.. 3 or so months. But after seven months of -35C degrees with a -45C degree windchill, (that's not an exaggeration, oh and it's -31, and -49F for american folks out there), it gets pretty tedious. I think my city was ranked one of the coldest on Earth one year, based on a certain population size. I mean don't get me wrong; winter is pretty and has its perks (guilt-free hot chocolate, sledding, reading books by a fire) but overall it's a house-confining dreaded season with multiple car accidents per day... for someone who needs her own space, and time outside to recharge, seven months of frostbiting weather puts a dreaded chill in my veins (ha-ha, so witty.)
Just wondering: what's winter like in YOUR city? And what's your take on it? Fun or evil?

Canada, ha-ha. Alberta to be more exact.
Where do you live?
20 inches is pretty impressive!! Is that when it's still fluffy or..? I sound dumb but I don't know how they measure it, ha-ha! We've never lost power due to storm, phew!
So apparently the weather network tells me that the averages during the winter are a bit warmer than I thought, I guess I just remember the cold days best, but it still gets pretty frigid, mainly the wind and I don't think the average temperature takes into account the windchill!
I remember being in grade 4, unless it was colder than -9.4F we HAD to go outside for recess. Tuh. School is never cancelled cause of snow, but we have a whole arsenal of snow plows that sweep the streets the moment snow begins to fall!
we never get any bad blizzards or anything, it hardly snows in my town we only really get like an inch of snow maybe abit more, right now its 32F, it moslty rains here ( but thats because i live in the UK, it always rains lol) and its usually cold, i love it when it snows even though it is cold i think its fun :D
In the year 2000, we had a blizzard that brought in 20 inches of snow. I'll never forget that day... According to this website, there were over 100,000 people without power...including me! At least I didn't have school for a week. My parents and I collected all the blankets in the house, and we huddled together in the living room every night. We heated some food over the fire place. Yummy smokey flavor!
After hearing that story, you're probably thinking that my winters are quite eventful. Sadly, that couldn't be farther from the truth. It rarely snows here. Even a couple inches is wishful thinking. The temperature is currently 44F and usually stays above 20F. I think I'd freeze to death in your town. *shiver* I hate going outside in the winter. It's just cold, dry, and ugly. D:
