I took a chance and emailed my prof about my anxiety and told her how bad the smacking is.  I didn’t say it was her that was smacking so much, only “people in class”.  I had mentioned it briefly on the first day, so she would know why if I was flinching or covering my ears.  I told her it’s not a good idea for me to do a presentation with my anxiety, and to my surprise, she understood.  I told her I’d like to do another assignment but would take the grade deduction if necessary.  She seems open to doing another assignment.  *fingers crossed*  Hopefully this works out.  Even knowing I have a presentation looming weeks away was causing me to panic.  Whew.

Update: honesty worked with every professor I had that year.  I didn't have to do any presentations or even talk in class.  It was great.

It's good to speak up. I'm glad she understands.

I hope it all goes well for you! :)

As for me I have to make an oral presentation on Monday for my Business Communication class, and since it's about learning to communicate in the business world I have to. D:
