"Obsessive Fans"

(I've been on this site since 2012 and this is my first blog post...shame, shame *rings bell*)

My daydreams have followed the same characters since 2005...even before my daydreaming evolved into its more intense MD form that it is now. My DDs revolve around one tv show, one that thankfully is quite successful and is still running after 10 years (the newest installment starts next year!).

Like a lot of others I've seen on the forum, I like my DDs to be as accurate as possible when it comes to details. This has led to me not only rewatching every episode for what feels like hundreds of times, but also getting my hands on every game and toy and book, scouring fanfiction, and reading the wiki over and over. The franchise is engraved into my identity now because of my connection to it with my MD.

Of course, very few people know about my MD, so I'm always labeled as an obsessive fangirl. It's actually pretty funny considering that I disliked the show at first...my DDs latched on to the characters and plotlines, and as a result I grew to fall in love like the show itself.

Over the years, the characters have become family to me, and through my DDs I've lived and relived the episodes and canon storylines as well as the extra ones I've developed myself.

It's certainly kept me from stopping my MD...whenever new episodes or information is released, it gives me weeks' worth of fresh DD material---not counting the extra tweaks I later give them to add to my DDs---and this has been going on for years.

Is anyone else like this? I've heard of a lot of MDers here taking characters or ideas from fiction, but I haven't met anyone whose DDs are actually them (or their alternate self, rather) living inside of an established work's canon.

Any other hardcore fans out there?

Yes, this sounds a lot like me. The majority of my daydreams are often about and/or using the content of a show I'm really into. 

Also based on your description is the show Supernatural?

i daydream about the members of a band that i'm obsessed with. well, that's what my daydreams were originally about, but i've changed some things and added a lot more characters. the band members are still a very important part of my daydreams, but i've changed a lot of things about them and their lives, their families, etc. to make it more interesting. 

everyone in real life knows i'm super obsessed with the band, but they don't know about my MD.

i know a lot of people on here have daydreams based on books or tv shows, but i've only ever talked to one person on here who uses bands.
