OK, maybe this should be a discussion on the forum, I'm never really sure of where to post things :P
Anyway, I just Googled 'I'm tired should I drink coffee', which I know is weird, but I was bored, so I typed in something random. I think that's how I found this site. I clicked on a link, which then led me to a website telling me about DSPS, or delayed sleep phase syndrome.
I've recently developed a habit of keeping myself up late for no good reason, which I then regret in the morning. But I've always felt more awake and alert at night, and I'm always tired in the daytime (apart from when I act hyper, but that's just because of hormones and mood swings and things). This is a symptom of DSPS.
I was reading a Wikipedia article on it, and quite a bit of it fitted me. Although even if I get to sleep in, I tend to keep myself awake DDing, so I don't get much sleep. I generally fall asleep around midnight, and am forced to get up at around 6 or 7 am, except on weekends.
If I can, I will sleep in til up to 12pm, which isn't that bad, considering I sometimes fall asleep at 2 or 3 am, and sometimes spend about 3 or 4 hours DDing, so I'm basically getting around 9 or 10 hours sleep (sometimes), as opposed to my normal 'school day' 5 to 7 hours of sleep.
I show quite a few symptoms of DSPS, although some of these can be traced to MD. I don't know if anyone has read my article about when the doctor diagnosed me with this thing where I had a bad virus and my body didn't heal properly or something like that blah blah blah, but I'm wondering if I actually have DSPS, and I was misdiagnosed. That, combined with my MD, gives me what I'm left with now.
So, maybe? Probably not, but it's worth thinking about. Google DSPS if you are interested in finding out more.
