A girl is going around announcing she's atheist.  She strikes me as being an arrogant show off.  She says she's proud to be atheist because it makes her different.  I'm jealous because I'm not allowed to be different.  I'm forced to be conventional.  She said "you're just jealous of me because I'm different."  I'm infuriated.  All my life I have been different but now I'm forced to be normative.  People were jealous of me because I was a free spirit, a hippie.  Now I'm being accused of being jealous of someone else.  This is a nightmare.

Iyanla says just let it go.  Let her win.  I feel inferior.  Now I'm cursing her out.

It's kind of annoying sometimes how characters take on a life of their own.

ong with me and my imaginary "family" because we're so different. Well, we can't help it--we're literally space aliens, so our differences are part of our species/culture. (But he's the alien to us and we don't insult him about it...) The worst part is he's an ambassador to our empire, so he's supposed to tolerate those things. He leaves in October, but we're stuck with him until then. He really wants to leave, too. He keeps saying "I can't wait to get out if this crazy house and 'back to reality'!" and chuckling. And the date in my imaginary world is always the same as the date in the real world--even if I daydream I did something for a week, if I daydreamed it all in one real-life day, then in my imaginary world it would have been the same date and day of the week (for example, once it was Thursday for 3 weeks straight because I spent an hour or two daydreaming about a three-week-long war on a Thursday). So technically we have to put up with him for EVEN LONGER than 5 months, which is gonna be interesting. (I have a couple of possible plot twists planned where he actually becomes nice, but I'm not sure if they're going to work or not.) So, yeah...

Thank you for this.  I am having this type of conversation with my imagined character.
