Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
Hello everyone,
Have you all heard of that show called My Strange Addiction? It's this weird documentary, on channel TLC, about real people who have strange addictions, or just strange behavior that they repeat.

And I know another season of this is coming up, and I thought 'Well, maybe...Just maybe I could sign up for it and describe my addiction to daydreaming, and see if they allow me on the show.' Just a thought. Not sure if I should actually do it or not. I was thinking out all of the pros and cons of I did this.

There are more cons than pros. ): But, I kind of think this is a pretty cool idea; if we just got someone that would be willing to go on TV and talk about their MD, it could really help us all out. And it could help those who have this problem, but are unaware of MD, too. Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not asking any of you to do this for me! I just thought it would be really cool if we got an MDer on that show.
So, what do you think? How would you react if you saw someone on TV doing a documentary on MD?

Thanks for your responses, everyone. You all have a point, and I've decided not to go through with it. I mostly just wanted to do it because I'm tired of living in the shadows with MD...I want an answer, a suggestion to help it stop, a cure. I just thought it would be an interesting way to get people aware of it.
But you're all right...MD wouldn't be taken seriously on that show, and the show deals with other things.
Thanks everyone! Best wishes.

I also agree with the previous comments. I doubt it would help MD people generally and would very likely hurt you personally. The one I saw, the lady ate laundry detergent and while the show pretended to be caring, sending her to a doctor, in reality she was presented as a freak.
