Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
Today, a very nice lady moved out of my apartment building, so I thought I'd share something in her honor. She actually signed up for this site, but I don't think she comes here anymore. I didn't know her well. We'd say "Hi" in passing but not much more than that. However, many years ago, when I was having a bad day, she did something very sweet. It was 3 days before Christmas, and I had bought several pairs of fun socks for myself as a treat, when suddenly I lost my wallet. I looked everywhere, but it was gone. It had all my money in it, and I wasn't going to get paid for about a week. I needed money for food, so I had to return all the fun socks I got. When I got back to my apartment building, this nice lady saw that I was sad and asked what was wrong, so I told her. She asked me my apartment number, and a few mins later I got a knock on the door. Outside my door, I found a nice card with $20 in it and a pair of socks. I saw her getting on the elevator and yelled "Thank you!" It was so sweet, and I haven't forgotten to this day. Before she left today, I reminded her of her kind gesture and let her know that I haven't forgotten. I wish her all the best in her new place. This world needs kind people like her. We have a lot of kind people on this site, too, and I'm grateful for you all. Keep spreading the love.

It's nice to know there are positive, kind, people out there.
That lady was so nice, I hope you've managed to stock up on fun socks since!!
How unfortunate that you lost your wallet, but it's moments like these that really bring out the best in people. I definitely agree that there needs to be more lessons on kindness and dignity being taught and not so much on cynicism these days.
Another kind gentleman who who lived in my building and worked at the coffee shop down the street told me he'd found it a few months later, but of course all the money was gone. At least I didn't have to pay for a new ID card.
