Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
when some of you say you use characters from shows/movies, do you mean the actual character or what.
for example.......edward cullen from twilight, lets say.
do you actually daydream about edward cullen? and put different characters into one daydream or something? or are you just using robert pattinsons body for your character and completely changing his personality/name/ and what not
i dont know, i get confused with that.
because i may use people from shows but i change their name/personality/style and even their apperance a bit.

I do make up characters, but in my dreamworld, I have more characters from fiction than those created by myself.
so none of you make up your own characters??? for me really its just using their apperance and thats it.
I use the actual character(s). In my daydreams I or a character of my creation enter a slightly altered/manipulated version of that universe. Using your twilight example- My character would be the sister of Edward experiencing the events of the story along with the rest of the Cullen family or something along those lines.
Sometimes I will incorporate fiction characters into my daydreams but only because they have to be their since I use fictional worlds as the set for my daydreams sometimes. Otherwise I usually just take the aspects of fiction characters that I like and meld them all into one MD character.
Depends on the particular characters. Some shows/films/books have just perfect character(s), some has to be slightly modified to be satisfactory. I don't use any character, who needs plenty of warping and transforming. They have to have a potential, so to speak, something has to click when I read about them/watch them.
When I daydream I usually picture myself as the character himself/herself, and having the personality and characteristics of that character. Sort of like an 'idealized' fantasy self.
I use the actual character, with personality and everything of the character.
