Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
I think I do this because it feels more real to me, Because it's pretty, And I only play in my mind attractive people, Never unattractive people for some reason. I won't talk out loud though. I'm sure some sounds come out and I'm sure my face expressions are strange. But I'm 20 years old, So if anyone comes over I have to hide my Barbie. This sounds crazy but my barbie is even a little worned out and has a slightly broken neck from squeezing her.

I hold a Fisher-Price Teddy Bear (Blonde Bear) when I daydream (I hold her all the time, though). I've clutched her so hard that all the stuffing from her torso fell down into her legs. I think I do it because Blonde Bear has always been someone who makes me feel happy and like I am home (like tea or chicken noodle soup). The place I daydream about is very dangerous and chaotic, for most people there is never a sense of safety or comfort, but the way the strength of the characters' bond allows them to always (at least slightly) have that sense.
Jared- Yes I mean daydream when I say 'do it" lol
JNoland-No, it can be any barbie. I'll do it on the floor or on my bed too. But an ywhere really where people arnt watching.
Sasi- Sometimes I'll do it without her but I prefer to do it with her. I do intensly by self too not around others.
Do you still dd when not using your Barbie?
My favourite place to dd is in bed often while listening to music.I still dd all sorts of other places though but not as intense.
Is the doll the same one you've always counted on or is it possible to get the same effect with a different one? I generally have a favorite couch to sit on, it used to be the floor as a teenager. But the area has to be concealed if I'm not using it for dds. Like I pile blankets or stack magazines there. It would just be a couch to anyone looking at it but I have to disguise it for some reason.
Uhh... By "it," you mean daydreaming, right?
