So, twice, it's been two times that, while I'm daydreaming, I've crossed the street with red traffic lights, and well, you know the rest.

This is a little scary, that's all. My dreams are already affecting me more than before....

But, I have a question (I'm sorry if my question is stupid...)

To what extent do you suffer from maladaptive daydreaming, or does it simply depend on the person?

Is that exaggerated? (I guess so, I'm trying to say that if something similar has happened to someone else, which I doubt a little).

My daydreaming just takes over. Like you i have crossed red lights and i have nearly been hit by cars multiple times. I have nearly been hit by a train once, too. But i think eventually you come to terms with it and start to get a bit more aware.... Sometimes.
I'd like to say that i have good advice but the only thing i can tell you to do is maybe try to have someone walk near you or with you. They'll stop you if you're about to cross the red light and it'll build up a habit for you to stop once there's a road crossing.... Sorry, i don't really have much advice regarding my daydreaming

Yeah that totally happens to me. I'm still am a learning driver, supposed to be anxious and aware on the road, but even when this 'you gotta focus' is through my system, a blow red lights, merge into other lanes when I'm DDing, and can't even focus. I know I'm a new driver, but the whole not focusing thing will probably get worse as I get more comfortable behind the wheel, scary.
