Does anybody else not name their characters?

Some of mine have names, and some don't. It seems completly random. Sometimes when I first start forming a character, I'll come up with a name that seems to fit perfectly, and it will just stick. But other times, I don't even realize that the character has no name, until I'll be imaging a dialog scenerio, and suddenly I'll be like, uh, oops. My main character has no name. I've tried to pin several on her, but they never stick. Somehow I feel like she doesn't need a name. Does anyone else do this?

Oh wow, now that I think about it, I don't have names for most of my characters. It seems weird though, since I daydream everyday. I usually have trouble with putting names on people though. If no name sounds right then I just won't give them one.

I do that too!

I have a character who I always call Girlie for some reason, then I realized she needed a proper name, so after quite a while, 'Karla' just stuck.

Her boyfriend and his mate still have no names and it's kinda annoying.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that has some nameless characters!

Sometimes I do that. Some of my characters are very much intertwined with their names and I couldn't imagine them with any other name, while with others, I end up changing their names often because no name feels quite "right".

When I am imagining certain characters, it almost seems like their appearance, name and personality created itself, rather than me actively coming up with them. Other characters, including my main character and her immediate family, end up changing a lot...

I am the same as you a lot of the close dd charictors i have names for but i have a lot of charictors in my dds over 50+, and not all have names as i wont remember them all, but every so ofte my dd charictor will have a name attached to them and then i get to know them much better even though i live with them haha

Also i am rubbish at remebering names but i would love to know my charicotors better and know there names and backgrounds but mostly they are the same as mine.

I day dream about real people and things so my characters already have names!

but maybe your character doesn't need a name, sometimes it fits better without one.
