This story happened several years ago and involves a site member. I'll let her identify herself if she chooses.
A few days before Christmas, I decided to go shopping and bought several pairs of fun, colored socks. Then, I went and sat in a local coffee house (which is no longer in business) and drank some coffee. On my way home, I checked my pockets and discovered that my coin purse along with my ID and all my cash were gone. I went back to the coffee house and looked all over for it, but it was nowhere to be found. I had no money to buy any food or anything for Christmas. My only choice was to go back to the store and return all my fun socks, so I would have enough money to live until my next paycheck. I was very sad.
When I got back to my apartment building, there was a nice lady who I'd spoken to in the past there, and we got onto the elevator together. She asked me why I was sad, and I told her. Right as I got off the elevator, she asked me my apartment number, so I told her. A few minutes later, I heard a knock on the door, and when I opened it, I saw her running back to the elevator, and in front of my door were a nice card with $20 in it and a pair of nice, brown socks. I yelled "Thank you!" It was such a kind gesture, and I have never forgotten. I still have those socks, and whenever I see them, I'm reminded of her and her kind gesture.
